A stunning upset kicked off the super regional round of the NCAA Division I college baseball tournament Saturday as Evansville defeated No. 1 Tennessee 10-8 to force a series-deciding Game 3.
That was just one of eight games taking place Saturday, though, with every best-of-three super regional seeing action.

Saturday Recaps
Evansville def. No. 1 Tennessee, 10-8
Evansville overcame an early 4-0 deficit by scoring 10 runs from the fourth through sixth innings to defeat the top-seeded Vols.
Right fielder Kip Fougerousse, second baseman Cal McGinnis and catcher Brendan Hord each hit homers for the Purple Aces.
McGinnis' two-run homer cut the Tennessee deficit to 4-3 in the fourth. Hord and Fougerousse both hit two-run bombs in the sixth to turn a 6-5 lead into a 10-5 edge.
Evansville took that lead into the ninth, but Tennessee got its first five runners on base via three walks and two singles, scoring two in the process. A sacrifice fly registered Tennessee's eighth run.
Another walk loaded the bases with just one out, but a strikeout and a flyout ended the threat.
No. 8 Florida State def. UConn, 10-8 (12 innings)
James Tibbs III hit three home runs en route to a five-hit, six-RBI day to lead Florida State to the College World Series after a thrilling 10-8 win over UConn in 12 innings.
Max Williams, Marco Dinges and Jaxson West also hit homers for FSU. West's solo homer tied the game at seven in the top of the eighth before a ninth-inning sacrifice fly gave the Seminoles an 8-7 edge.
However, Matt Malcom hit a pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the ninth to send this one to extras.
The two teams went scoreless in the 10th and 11th before FSU broke through in the 12th off Tibbs' two-run blast. UConn got the tying run at the plate with two outs in the bottom half, but a strikeout ended the threat.
Third baseman Luke Broadhurst shined for the Huskies with four hits (including a homer) and six RBI.
No. 10 North Carolina State def. No. 7 Georgia, 18-1
North Carolina State dropped 11 runs in the second inning and cruised from there en route to an 18-1 victory.
Catcher Jacob Cozart hit two of NC State's five home runs. Alec Makarewicz added another homer among his four hits, and he now has 21 dingers and 77 RBI on the season. No. 9 hitter Noah Soles added five RBI.
Wolfpack starting pitcher Sam Highfill got the win, tossing six innings of one-run ball.
Florida def. No. 6 Clemson, 10-7
Florida superstar first baseman Jac Caglianone's 32nd home run of the year kickstarted a seven-run fifth inning en route to a 10-7 win.
Caglianone hit a three-run blast to turn a 4-2 Clemson lead into a 5-4 Florida edge. The Gators then scratched out four more runs despite only getting two more hits in the inning, both of which were singles. Two walks, a fielder's choice and an RBI groundout helped matters.
On the mound, Brandon Neely starred for Florida, pitching the final four innings and striking out seven while allowing just one hit and one walk.
Luke Heyman and Tyler Shelnut also hit home runs for Florida. Jimmy Obertop and Tristan Bissetta each hit homers for Clemson.
No. 3 Texas A&M def. Oregon, 10-6
Oregon jumped out to a 6-3 lead after an inning-and-a-half, but Texas A&M responded with seven unanswered runs (including three each in the fourth and fifth innings) for the 10-6 victory.
Aggies relief pitcher Chris Cortez was the game's star with 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out 10 along the way. Evan Aschenbeck followed with 1.2 scoreless frames, striking out three.
Catcher Jackson Appel led the Aggies at the dish with three hits (including two doubles), two runs and two RBI. Designated hitter Hayden Schott added three hits and three RBI, while third baseman Gavin Grahovac scored three times.
Oregon left fielder Anson Aroz hit the game's lone home run, a two-run blast in the first to give the Ducks an early 2-0 edge.
No. 12 Virginia def. Kansas State, 10-4
A five-run ninth inning boosted Virginia to a 10-4 victory against Kansas State.
Jacob Ference's two-run triple and Luke Hanson's pinch-hit, bases-clearing and bases-loaded double accounted for all five runs, turning a tense 5-4 game into a late rout.
Casey Saucke hit a homer for UVA to put the Cavaliers up 1-0 in the first. For the Wildcats, Brendan Jones and Kyan Lodice each hit home runs. Lodice's shot cut the UVA lead to 5-4 in the eighth.
No. 2 Kentucky def. Oregon State, 10-0
Kentucky trounced Oregon State behind a seven-run seventh inning and a combined one-hitter.
Starting pitcher Trey Booser tossed seven innings, allowing one hit and four walks while striking out eight. Jackson Nove relieved him with two perfect frames while punching out four.
First baseman Ryan Nicholson led the Wildcats at the dish, going 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in the aforementioned seventh inning.
Oregon State went hitless over the final seven innings, with the lone knock courtesy of a second-inning single from Elijah Hainline.
North Carolina def. West Virginia, 2-1
Saturday's action ended with an instant classic as UNC held off West Virginia 2-1.
UNC shortstop Vance Honeycutt hit a leadoff home run and later scored the Tar Heels' other run in the third after a Parks Harber RBI single.
West Virginia got one back in the seventh after Kyle West's RBI single scored Reed Chumley.
UNC maintained a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but West Virginia wasn't done, putting runners on first and second with one out.
Reliever Dalton Pence struck out Ellis Garcia but then walked West to load the bases.
Ben Lumsden then hit a grounder to first, but Pence just beat him to the bag to get the out and win the game. He earned the save after striking out six over 2.2 scoreless innings.
Jason DeCaro got the win after striking out five and allowing just two hits and one earned run over 6.1 frames.
