Chapter 1: Beginning

Chapter Text

In a mysterious space with grey fog, a low laughter echoed through, it filled with a lot of emotions; relief, pain, delight and mocking.

Cale brushed his hair backward with his right hand before letting out a sigh, he had been out of control on his emotion that led him to laugh for a damn 10 minutes. He didn't have time for this, according to his calculations his half soul should be on wage of death courtesy of white sh*t.

He had to fuse with his half soul before the God of Death grabbed him for tea time.

Cale hid his divine aura before hopping into the red dot.

Instantly he arrived at the battlefield he had died in his first life. Choi Han the hero was fighting with White radish the god wannabe. While his other half was staring at him with a weird glint in his eyes. "You are here."

Cale nodded his head before revealing a small smile. 40-year-old Cale raised his eyebrows when he realised the time had stopped.

"Took your time, didn't you?" the half soul Cale asked, he had received some memories of his new god self.

"Couldn't help it." God Cale sincerely answered, making Cale nodded his head in understanding that the little boy's fate was too gruesome and tragic. No wonder his other half was reluctant to leave that boy and stayed there without hesitation. "Alright then, time is coming shall we begin?"

With that the two souls infused to each other, no one was paying attention to 40 years old Cale so they didn't notice a reddish full moon symbol appear on his forehead.

Cale struggled to control the divine power that could now rival all gods existing in his own world. It took him 5 minutes to hold back all the power his body was receiving.

Cale used some of his power to teleport to where two main parties were battling, arriving right in front of Choi han blocking the attack head on, a sword pierced through him, Cale could see shock in Choi Han's face which he didn't care as he transferred his mother's ancient power to Choi Han before he teleported the hero party to somewhere else. "Use it well, you punk!"

The hero party disappeared making the white sh*t angry while Cale closed his eyes as he felt himself dying.

********

Cale could feel the presence of the GoD but ignored it in favour of relaxing a little bit. He was slowly holding back his presence of a new god and divine power.

It was a mess as he sent it to his own domain to store and hide it from the gods.

"My child, wake up." GoD was helpless at the human pretending to sleep. He watches the human slowly open his eyes with a blank face.

"What do you want?" Cale rudely asked while rubbing between his eyes, he was having a headache because of the separation of his power.

GoD:"..." He had never seen such a rude human as his own favourite children.

"Shsh.." Cale shushed the God of Death when he saw the GoD opening his mouth to say something.

GoD: "..." He had been interrupted before he could answer the rude human. Cale didn't care about the sulking god, he was busy with taming the headache caused by his own power rampanting in the box containing it.

Cale finally sealed the divine power, although it was temporarily sealed but it could hold for a year. "So what does the God of Death want from this lowly mortal?"

God of Death hearing Cale's calm voice finally stopped sulking. "So you do know I'm a God?"

"Who wouldn't know when this space is screaming for death?" Cale held back himself from rolling his eyes.

GoD was speechless:"..."

Seeing the human raising his eyes at him with 'go ahead continue'. The rudeness was so visible that GoD lamented.

"Ahem, the reason you are here is because I wanted to have a conversation." GoD softly said, Cale really wanted to roll his eyes.

"I'm not stupid, tell the real reason for why would an almighty god bring a lowly mortal for a conversation?!" Cale retorted, crossing his arms while looking at the god sharply.

GoD wanted to sigh at the boy's rudeness towards him but also amused. "Ho, smarter than I anticipated as expected of my child!"

That is right the GoD decided this rude human as his other child. Cale almost tripped even though he wasn't walking because of the GoD's antics. Rubbing his temples, Cale felt another headache coming. GoD seeing his new child not refuting his claim, GoD was filled with happiness.

"My child, this father of yours wanted to give you some choices!" God of Death was particularly shining brightly with his smile. Cale didn't know it was possible for darkness to shine brightly like a sun? If he wasn't good at controlling his facial expression then he would have closed his eyes and put his hand in front of himself to block.

Cale was really thankful for his 10 years of acting, guess his biology father had given him some skills? "What kind of choice?"

Cale blankly listened to the GoD telling him the same thing he said in his first life but not as a deal but as a first choice. The second choice was to regress while GoD's favourite child will uhh transmigrate like Choi Han.

"NO" Cale immediately rejected both choices, making the GoD title his head in confusion. "Let that child become my younger brother and regress me. In exchange for it I will become your saint!"

It wasn't fair for God of Death to do that but Cale will make it up once he becomes a saint and settles down. God of Death thought about it, that wasn't impossible and it was quite good for his other child.

"Alright, we can do that!" GoD simply said making Cale's favourable impression on GoD better.

"Do you have a name? It's troublesome to call your whole title." Cale casually asked, he found it's too long to call it out when he wanted to talk to GoD. Cale waited for a good minute without any response from his fa -GoD.

"Don't tell me you don't have one?" Cale looked at GoD in disbelief. GoD shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal and he hadn't bothered to find a name for himself as he was always called by his title.

"Unlucky bastard," Cale muttered under his breath quietly. GoD didn't know why his child said that, it wasn't a big deal to not have a name right?

"My child, I shall send you back now!" God of Death said as he could feel the limitations of a human staying at his domain. The God of Death didn't want his child to be stuck here, lest his child be harmed by the death aura for staying here a long time.

"Alright! See you later, Azrael." Cale waved, he was fading away leaving the God of Death confused as who was Azrael...... then he realised that his child had given him a name.

Azrael was delighted at the name his child gave him, although he didn't understand if his name had meaning behind it or not.

Cale opened his eyes, he was laying down on his soft bed and what came into his view was the ceiling he was familiar with, having been living there for 30 years. Cale laid there silently staring at the ceiling while receiving the child version of his memory and fusion of their soul.

There wasn't much that had changed, but one thing that changed was that his mother Jour was pregnant and Cale had regressed when he was 1 years old it seems. Being one year old gave him a lot of advantages.

Cale closed his eyes as if he was sleeping so as to not make others worried at his state of eyes open but not reacting. Then he arrived at his own domain, filled with red fog..? He didn't remember it being red but grey?

Was it because of his incomplete soul so the color of fog was grey and now that his soul is complete it changed into red?

Cale explored the domain filled with red fog, before finally he decided that the first thing he needed to do was deal with his divine power that he had been ignoring because of important matters.

Looking at a small transparent box containing a reddish moon like ball.

Cale decided that he liked the reddish moon, so he opened the box letting out the moon that had rushed into him as soon as it was opened.

Cale could sense the chaotic surge of divine power coursing through his body, unleashing havoc and chaos within him, both internally and externally. He coughed up blood, while bloody tears streamed rapidly down his face. With a staggering step, Cale collapsed onto one knee, clutching his chest with his right hand while his other hand steadied his trembling body against his thigh.

As the tumultuous energy continued to pulse through him, Cale gritted his teeth against the pain, his muscles tensing with the strain of holding himself upright.

Each breath felt like fire in his lungs, every heartbeat a thunderous echo in his ears. Yet, amidst the turmoil, a fierce determination flickered in his eyes, a resolve to endure whatever trial this divine power had thrust upon him. With a steadying breath, he pushed himself to rise once more, refusing to succumb to the overwhelming force that sought to overwhelm him.

Despite the intensity of the divine power coursing through him, Cale found solace in the memory of the sacrifices he had made before. He remembered the day he had delayed his ascension to godhood for the sake of that young boy, a decision driven by love and compassion.

With determination and perseverance for the future with that little boy he had accepted as his adopted son and family. And for a peaceful life with his family.

Cale gradually felt the divine power within him begin to settle, swiftly coming under his control.

Cale didn't falter like others might in such challenging circ*mstances; instead, he stood tall and composed, exuding grace and resilience.

Despite his past failings and the unseemly behaviour he had exhibited, Cale remained noble at his core, a former heir to greatness. Even in moments of disgrace, there was a certain dignity to his actions.

Cale waved his hand, controlling the red fog to test the power of his domain. Cale closed his reddish brown eyes before opening them, they glowed like bloody red crystal.

Cale could see everything literally every corner of his domain. He was slightly surprised to see every corner, it was as if his eyes were everywhere.

Since he is a god and controls this damned domain, adding that he is a wealthy noble. He will not be shabby like other gods. With that determination Cale imagined what he wanted the place to look like.

Before Cale, a familiar sight emerged: a typical holy castle, causing him to grimace in distaste. As if on cue, a large reddish moon ascended behind the castle, casting an ominous shadow over its once pristine facade. With a simple gesture, Cale condensed the 100 stairs into merely four beneath his feet; he wasn't going to walk up 100 of stairs, all while allowing the crimson fog to cloak the surroundings, lending an air of mystery to the scene.

Cale let out a sigh, he didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his own reluctance at entering the castle he created. Shaking his head, Cale decided to use the castle when he received a guest.

Cale walked towards the simple traditional korean villa, he used to live with the little boy.

Entering through the sliding door, Cale took off his shoes and went directly to the living room as he sat down on the floor. Under him was a soft cushion on the wide table of five people and a tea set.

Cale made tea for himself, while thinking about the first thing he was going to do.

At the moment there was nothing urgent to take care of until he turned 18. But that doesn't mean he couldn't change some unfortunate people's fate, for example Haris village or the wolf village but that could only wait until he became 17.

The black dragon hasn't even been born yet so Cale can't do anything right now because he doesn't know where it is right. Maybe later, he could give a dragon egg as his little brother's birthday present.

Speak of dragon wasn't a half-blood chimaera right now still alive and suffering from daddy issues?

Cale's face brightened with a smile, if the boy was here then he would have told Cale. 'Are we going to scam someone?' too bad he wasn't here at all.

Cale was excited at the thoughts of looting half-blood, under White Raddish's nose.

Cale stood up, just as he was about to leave he realised he had to disguise unless he wanted his family to be targeted. He didn't want any complicated disguise so he just conjured a black and red dress adorned with a hood, presenting an alluring blend of mystery and elegance. The dress's dominant black hue exudes sophistication, while the striking red accents add a vibrant contrast.

Cale was going back in time, where the red dragon egg hadn't been cracked open for its heart. For any other god it might be hard to do that without approval of the God of time. Because it will change a lot of things and make it worse but Cale was a descendant of Thames that alone gave him a big advantage. After all they were close to the time that one of his ancestors had become a god, at that time it was god of time.

A cave, that is where he had appeared. It was filled with research tools, that much of it was clear as sky, the cave was actually a lab to create a dragon.

Cale felt anger rising in him when he saw a small and thin boy sitting behind the metal cage. Cale grabbed the egg, then he slowly walked towards the prison.

Arriving in front of it Cale with wave of his hand sliced of the metal, the heave and loud sound of the metals falling on the ground woke up the child that was sleeping. In order to take those two children with himself Cale had to pay an equal price.

That was to either exchange those two's fate with another two innocent persons or use all his divine power although that is possible since he will just have to rest for 2 years to get back his power but that will make their escape hard since the sealed god should be able to sense him and warn the White star.

If so then Cale needs to make a plan, very carefully. Cale knows a place where he could hide those two but first he needs to talk to this child who is staring at him blankly.

"Child, do you want to leave this place?" Cale softly asked, he was trying to not scare the child who started to shake. Cale waited for a long time before the child nodded his head, Cale reached out his hand for the child to take, to his not so expected the child had taken his hand without any hesitation.

Without saying anything Cale hugged the child, before placing the dragon egg in the child's hand so that Cale could hug the child more comfortably and making it easier for himself to run and jump.

Cale didn't notice the child had stiffened when he saw the dragon egg with a sad face.

"Child, do you have a name?" Cale asked as he ran through the forest silently.

"No" a soft and childish voice sounded, he doesn't remember having a name at all through his life.

The dragon half-blood held the red egg tightly, it was the dragon whose heart White star had placed inside him in his past life. He didn't understand why he had come back to the past and felt like he was dreaming when he saw a saint with more sinister clothes. Usually it's either white or black but it was black and red and combined it looked more like a demon saint.

Not that he was complaining as long as he left that hellish place. He didn't know where they were going, he couldn't help but breath fresh air.

Cale, after running and teleporting here and there, finally arrived at Mount Yellia. For one thing Cale was very sure that a safe place for the two children would be with another dragon who is known for helping young dragons and saved elves.

Ancient dragon Eruhaben, would be a suitable guardian for two young children.

Cale was right outside of the ancient dragon lair, to be more specific he was actually floating on top of the lair. Having no time, Cale let out his divine aura of god.

Eruhaben who was letting the elf who can't see elements ramble about recent things that happened while he was sleeping, suddenly sensed a divine aura of god, because of his sudden action of standing up he startled the elf, not that he cared.

He had to receive a divine being.

Eruhaben hurriedly left his lair to greet the unknown god outside his lair.

Cale seeing the ancient dragon wasted no time to land right in front of the dragon. Eruhaben kneeled on one knee, lowering his head and putting his right hand on where his heart was located. Shocking the elf behind him, then with a respectful voice. "Greeting to almighty and great god!"

"Get up" Cale who had been respectfully greeted by a dragon felt strange. Eruhaben noticed that the god was wearing a red and black dress with a hood and gold traces. For other races it might be mistaken as saint clothes but to the dragons it was god's outfit, chosen by the god to wear when they descend to the mortal world.

Eruhaben stared at the young human child holding a red dragon egg.

"Take care of these two children until they are strong enough to protect themself." Cale with a calm voice told Eruhaben then without waiting for Eruhaben to respond using his divine power to lift two children and send them to Eruhaben's hand for him to hold them.

Eruhaben, holding a human child and a dragon egg, wanted to let out a sigh when he heard the unknown god's soft voice. "Child, your name shall be Ajax."

Eruhaben had never in his long life thought of seeing a god personally blessing and giving a name to mortals. Eruhaben watched in fascination, admiration and curiosity as a red light descended on the human child's forehead, at the end of the light there was a crimson moon mark appeared on Ajax's forehead.

Then Eruhaben felt a strong shield and counselling magic enveloping the entire lair of his. That alone was enough to tell him the circ*mstances and the children's background were troublesome.

For a god to hide away something wasn't anything good.

With that the god had left, leaving an ancient dragon, human child, elf and dragon egg.

'Ajax' the dragon half blood called out in his mind, a name that he hadn't received from White Star but from an unknown saint.

"Child, what are you to even a god to descend to the mortal world?" Ajax heard the ancient dragon's voice, he was confused at what the dragon was saying. Seeing the boy confused, Eruhaben carried the boy who was holding the red egg into his lair while muttering."Unlucky brat"

Elf with a blank face followed after them.

*****

Cale, after leaving a strange combination of indIviduals, arrived at his own domain where the god of balance was waiting for him.

"Newlig, you know the consequences?" The God of Balance asked, his voice was indifferent and face blank as he stared at Cale. Cale's equally blank face nodded his head, he reached out his left hand for God of Balance.

God of Balance took out a crystal ball, putting it on Cale's hand for it to take the price of changing the fate of two individuals.

The crystal ball sucked out Cale's half divine power as the price.

Once it's finished the crystal floated back to the GoB, seeing the crystal filled with a crimson aura, GoB couldn't help but feel nostalgia. His close friend the God of Time also had a crimson divine aura, because of the balance and time being closer than anything, the two gods were close as brothers.

Once the God of Balance left, Cale went back to his young body of one year old. He felt drained at losing his half power but nothing new as he had been half soul.

Cale stood up from his baby bed, trying to climb down.

He hadn't noticed Ron who was actually sitting on the other side of the baby bed watching him in amusem*nt. Cale wondered if he should use his divine power, but denied it soon after because he didn't want anyone to know that he could actually use magic at all.

So after attempting to get down from his bed for the 10th time he finally realized that there was another person than himself.

Looking at the other side he saw Ron, his assassin butler sitting there with bening smile.

"Ron" Cale waved his both towards Ron whose eyes filled with amusem*nt.

For Cale, Ron was his father figure and was there when his father wasn't there, although the old man left him for revenge. Cale didn't blame Ron for leaving him, just his forgiveness towards his father Deruth for leaving him and bringing others into their lives.

Because Cale was intelligent enough to understand their reason for leaving.

Ron looked at his puppy cub young master who wanted him to hug him. It was entertaining to watch the cub trying to leave his baby bed and failing.

Ron hugged his young master as he walked out the room, he had to bring Cale to his mother by order of countess Jour.

Cale almost wanted to cry when he saw his mother. But he held it back, it was hard to do that when you are a baby.

His mother Jour was sitting there with a big stomach, his unborn younger brother. As for his father, he should be busy with his paperwork.

Cale spent most of his time with his mother and little brother without any worry for the future. Cale could now walk slowly by himself, he was anticipating his little brother's birth.

So when his mother was giving birth, he was walking in a circle in front of the door of the room she was inside.

After a long minutes.........

He finally heard his little brother's healthy cries.

Cale's face lightened up in happiness, a one year old child walking in a circle with a worried and serious face made other's coo in cuteness.

Cale was sitting on the bed, he was looking at his baby brother who had the same red hair as him and their mother. Jour looked at her oldest child who was watching the youngest Roksu with clear happiness.

Cale sat on the bed with his foot speared out, then he held out his arms for the baby. "Mother, I want to hold my brother!"

Cale saw his mother smiling at him brightly as she let him hold his baby brother. Cale was filled with a lot of emotions when he held his little brother. Cale could sense his baby brother was the same boy he had been reluctant to leave.

"Thank you for being born." Cale quietly whispered,, no one but the baby heard it.

****

Kim rok soo who had just been transmigrated and had just realised that he was inside of Birth of the Hero novel. He was the younger brother of Cale Henituse, the trash of count's family.

Rok Soo was pretty sure such a character didn't exist at all.

From what he observed Cale Henituse was a bright child, filled with kindness and intelligence so how did this older brother of his become a trash.

Roksu was a 36 years old man but one single sentence from a one year old made him emotional. Roksu looked at his older brother who was looking at him with loving eyes that could rival their mother's and the happiness wherever he was looking at him almost blinded him.

Roksu had noticed one thing about his hyung that was when his hyung wasn't looking at him the bright reddish brown eyes would diminish into lack of lustre.

That much was enough to tell Roksu how much his hyung loved him. Because his hyung's eyes were most brightest when Roksu is there. It was unexpected to receive so much affection from someone who is not his two hyung or parents.

Roksu had promised to himself not let his older brother fall into trash behaviour.

*******

Cale was 8 years old, Roksu was 7 years old, they were totally opposite. Cale was full of energy while Roksu was full of laziness. But at least Roksu followed Cale to learn swordsmanship which was good for their health. No one noticed the nervousness and seriousness of the two young masters of count.

Chapter 3: Mother

Chapter Text

Both of them knew it was coming, the day their mother passed away.

"Mother?" Cale was having tea with his mother alone while Roksu was raking his brain to think away to prevent Jour Henituse's death.

"Yes" Jour, still smiling, she knew what her oldest was hitting about but she had to do it. Cale frowned with his small face. "For us?"

"Yes darling" Jour sadly said, her child was truly bright to be able to understand why she must do this. Cale of course understand that if his mother don't do this he and Roksu's safety will not be granted and to stable Roksu's soul.

Cale had noticed that his brother's soul wasn't stable. To have someone that didn't exist in the timeline of this world one must pay equal price or consequences will be unimaginable and so was his own godhood.

"Then are you going to stay in the spiritual world or continue to reincarnate?" Cale blankly asked, he was trying to hold himself from showing sadness. Cale will be strong for his mother and let her leave with comfort. Jour was saddened at her child's understanding natureness.

"Mother will be staying in the spiritual world." Jour answered, seeing that is what her oldest wanted her to do. She was sure he wasn't aware of it but if it's going to make her child hopeful then she will do it although she didn't understand why.

Cale's face brightened knowing his mother would be in the spiritual world there she would be safe. Cale left his seat and hugged his mother tightly before saying. "Mother please spend more time with Roksu before you leave."

"Of course" Jour's gentle voice sounded as she patted his head. Once Jour left Cale let out a drop of tears, making Azrael inside his head worry. 'Cale, are you okay!'

'I am fine,' Cale reassured Azrael with a small smile on his lips. Azrael wasn't assured at all but he knew nothing can be done so he could only rub Cale's head. Knowing how stubborn the God of Balance is to change his mind about Jour's fate.

No one knew what was about to come but two children with red hair.

'So she had decided to forcefully let Roksu sleep.' Cale said to Azrael, he was looking between the big curtains. Once the carriage was out of his sight only then he went to a big bed in the middle of the room, on the bed were a peacefully sleeping 7 years old child.

'Poor Roksu!' Azrael's voice full of sympathy, he seems to be rubbing Roksu's hair? Cale had a strange face as he remembered the rubbing he had received from Azrael, he didn't know if that was the God of Death's habit.

Cale ignored the stupid doting father face of Azrael, he had to think about the future. Since he isn't a child who could only think about silly ways to protect his family.

Cale was going to let his dongsaeng live slacker until the time comes, they can't blame him for being ruthless this time. Cale dangerously narrowed his eyes, sly smirk making way into his lips.

Azrael, who sensed danger from Cale, moved away. He didn't know who was going to be killed by his child but pitfull of them.

Cale didn't come out of his villainous arc until he heard Roksu's groan, a warning his dongsaeng is about to awake. Roksu dazedly blinked for a second before sitting up too fast that he suddenly felt dazed.

Cale, seeing Roksu suddenly sitting up, grabbed a glass of water he had prepared and gave it to Roksu.

"What is wrong? Are you okay?" Cale worriedly asked, he had the feeling that Roksu was having a migraine. Cale watched as his dongsaeng drank the water in one gulp.

"Where is mother?" Cale quietly listened Roksu's trembling voice, he was sorry to crush his cute dongsaeng's hope. "She just left not long ago to Harris village."

Cale could see how fast his dongsaeng's face turned pale as paper. Cale was really worried, approaching the bed where he sat and stood near the bed as he sat on the edge of the bed as he hugged his dongsaeng. "What is wrong?"

Cale knew it would be hard to say about the near future death of their mother so Cale stopped questioning instead comforted his dongsaeng.

Cale could feel warm liquid through his clothes where Roksu buried his head. "Shhh, it's okay."

Cale patted on Roksu's back gently while softly humming. Not long after Roksu slept, Cale put him down on the soft pillow and covered him before silently leaving.

It was time to prepare their mother's return, an hour since now he will clear out rats.

"Ron" Cale called out, he wasn't fazed at the old man appearing out of nowhere. "Yes young master?"

"Take care of unwanted flowers and rats." Cale ordered coldly, Ron's bening smile widened, he wasn't surprised at his oldest young master knowing about his ability.

"I shall do as you say." With that Ron was gone, Cale continuing walking forwards, he was going to their mother's favourite garden to take ancient power.

Cale and Roksu stood there blankly as their father cried like a baby. Cale comforted his father for a while then he hugged his little brother whispering. "Roksu, don't hold back, it's okay to cry if you are sad your hyung is here."

Cale let his dongsaeng cry silently while hugging him.

Cale glared at other's who were whispering about them not shedding tears, silencing them by his death glare. Cale wasn't going to let anyone talk bad about his dongsaeng.

"Ron take father to his room." Cale ordered after his father had passed out from crying. Then carrying his dongsaeng to Cale's room, on his way out he motioned for Beacrox to follow him.

Cale put Roksu on his bed, covering him with a blanket then he brushed away hair on Roksu's face before leaving bed side towards door. "Beacrox-hyung, take care of Roksu."

Seeing Beacrox nod with blank face, Cale grabbed the door handle and walked out before the door closed. Beacrox heard Cale's cold voice. "A dog can't bark without its neck."

Beacrox stared at the door until his father came in, Ron seeing his son looking at the door with indifferent face but amused eyes? Ron raised his eyebrows.

"A dog can't bark without its neck" Beacrox in monotone voice repeated.

"Oldest young master." Ron said in a statement rather than a question. Ron left the room on his way towards his puppy young master. 'A dog can't bark without its neck, in other order a servant can't talk without their tongue...... no, it's an order to kill.'

Ron's bening smile widened, his two young master's were really interesting. Ron when he arrived at the count's office he saw his puppy young master sitting behind a table full of paperwork, doing what a count should be doing.

"Ron, you are here." Cale didn't look up, he knew it was Ron who came in because only Ron would come into a room silently. And that really intrigued Ron, it can be anyone but his puppy young master was sure it was him coming in. "Yes young master."

"Ron, prepare a funeral for my mother, do as how my mother would like it." Cale ordered, he scribed on the paper before giving it to the assistant standing next to him.

"As you wish" with that Ron left the office.

Rest of the day Cale spent his time working, comforting his father and his shocked dongsaeng.

Cale softly sang a lullaby as he laid down with Roksu patting on his back. Even though Roksu was mentally adult, he was just a child who matured too early and had just lost a loving mother.

Cale had it easy because it wasn't his first time seeing his mother die but Roksu who from an early age survived the dark side of humanity and had a small number of people caring about him was another thing.

Furthermore Cale had Azrael who comforted him, then Roksu who comforted him too so Cale wasn't alone like in the past.

On the morning of their mother's funeral, Cale received a lemon tea from Ron while Roksu pretended to sleep because he didn't want to drink lemon tea.

Ron seems to know that Roksu has awoken but lets it go by the looks of his wide bening smile. Cale snorted as he indifferently drank the lemon tea.

"Ron, your tea today tastes good." Bitter like his heart. Ron was taken aback before realizing what Cale meant.

Ron felt his heart ache at the maturity of Cale's face. Ron was sure that his puppy master was still grieving but because of the so-called father of his, the boy had to take care of a lot of things.

When Ron saw Cale doing paperwork he had the urge to sharpen his blades.

The funeral went without any accident, count crying out loud with his two children standing there with blank faces. No one dared to say anything as Cale was watching them with cold, calculating and predator eyes as if he was waiting for them to make a mistake and deal with them on the spot.

Roksu coldly stared at his father back, his dislike towards this father of his was increasing as the minutes passed.

One thing he noticed that night was the one comforting him was his 8 year old hyung not the man who is already an adult.

Roksu blinded by grief, he hadn't noticed that it was his hyung comforting their father, not another way around. He only noticed it once he woke up from his grieving slumber, then searching after his hyung only to find him in their father's office doing paperwork.

That made Roksu want to hit Deruth's head, and learning it was Cale who ordered a proper funeral for their mother snapped the last string of his patience, had it not been for Beacrox then Roksu would have already stormed into Deruth's room.

Roksu and Beacrox were on their way towards the count's office when they met three adults from the side family.

"Boy, you should be obedient, your father still grieving." One of the men with glasses said.

"It's best if you and your brother stay inside your room."

That is when Beacrox understood the real meaning behind the words his oldest young master meant. It wasn't just about the servants but anyone who dares to open their filthy mouths.

"Young master Roksu, please close your eyes." Beacrox did what his master ordered in the most vicious way, he cut the tongue of the two blabbering. He was sure that Cale would take his side, that was why he didn't hold back. He hadn't forgotten to protect his youngest master's eyes otherwise Cale wouldn't shut up about it.

Beacrox took off his white gloves tainted with blood, and changed into another gloves before taking Roksu to the count office.

As for the three people who were scared to death were brought to the doctor's office.

"Rok" Cale smiled brightly at his dongsaeng who was sitting on the sofa, he mentioned the servant to bring tea and desserts.

Cale finally left the table full of paperwork much to Ron's amusem*nt.

Ron, seeing the two children talk and enjoy tea, fixed the paperwork his puppy young master finished. Looking through the document's Ron found no mistake at all. Some of the works were about slums and children, it seems his puppy master wanted to improve their living conditions.

Corner of his eyes Ron caught a stack of documents, Ron with his great eyesight caught the underworld, gambling and embezzlement so on. Seeing the name of which noble did it, Ron's lips curved upwards whatever his puppy master was planning but one thing was clear Cale was gathering weakness of his side family and nobles under count Henituse.

After one hour of brother's eating, talking and slacking, Roksu was sent to the library with Beacrox.

"What is it?" Cale coldly asked, there was no longer the warmth in his tone like when he was talking to Roksu.

That was one thing Ron found interesting, Cale Henituse was a ball of sunshine smiling here and there but here now he was giving out a cold and indifferent aura as long as his family wasn't here.

"Young master, there are three people who wish to meet you urgently." A servant nervously said, he was a new servant brought in by the side family to spy on Cale.

"Let them wait." Cale said there was a lot of paperwork he needed to finish. Cale's patients were being tested by the stupid reports of nobles.

"Ron, check what happened and take care of rabbits hiding in the darkness." Once the servant left Cale ordered Ron, Cale let out a sigh of relief as soon as Ron quietly left.

Cale didn't understand what was getting on Ron's nerves that made the man's killing intent leaking out? Least the assassin butler make A graded lemon tea.

Chapter 4: Looting Azrael?

Chapter Text

Cale shuddered thinking about the lemon tea he received in the morning. It was 90 percent lemon and 10 percent tea.

Cale could only be thankful that the tea cup was small, not big.

While no one was in the room Cale hurriedly splitted his spiritual awareness leaving 20% of his soul to do the paperwork while he left to his domain.

So when the assistant of Deruth came to take signed paperwork, greeted him as a Cale looking down and with fast speed signing on paper.

Cale appeared in the garden full of flowers and trees.

A big cherry tree like a world tree under it was white table and seat. Cale had gotten rid of the castle but left the big crimson moon.

Cale was excited, because he finally succeeded in stealing two souls under Azrael.

Cale changed his expensive noble clothes into his god attire.

With that Cale looked like a mysterious god.

Just then a crimson cloud arrived in front of him, Cale climbed on the cloud before sitting comfortably.

The cherry tree grew longer as if to block the sky.

Cale together with a red cloud arrived in the middle of the cherry tree.

His stolen souls were about to come.

Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo were sure they died and left their dongsaeng alone.

Two of them were listening to God of Death Azrael explain why, how and what was happening to them when they felt a warm thing tugging at them.

They were confused when they heard Azrael's shocked gasp before they were gently dragged away.

They didn't know who long but they were sitting on crimson clouds with tea and desserts as they floated through a space filled with stars.

"Our dongsaeng must be having the best slacker life." Jung Soo said, he took a bite of lemon cake it was sour but tasty.

"He should be, from what Azrael mentioned his older brother spoiled him to death." Soo Hyuk answered, he was happy to know Rok Soo had a doting brother.

Lee Soo Hyuk observed his surroundings; a crimson cloud that looked sinister, a wooden table full of cakes and biscuits. He was sure they were flying at a fast speed but they weren't affected by it, if you look closer there is a protective red shield.

"Hyuk, look there is exists!" Choi Jungsoo's loud voice brought Lee Soohyuk out of his sight.

There was a white light in the direction they were heading towards. They closed their eyes as the light was too bright, after feeling there was no longer blinding white light they opened their eyes.

In front of them was a garden full of blooms, with a large cherry blossom tree. Under the tree was a person wearing the same attire as the god of death but more stylish with black hood tinted with blue inside the hood then white dressing sitting on the same crimson cloud.

Silver hair was the only thing they could see, other than that the rest of the gods face was hidden by crimson fog.

Unlike Azrael who showed his face, the god in front of them was mysterious.

"Welcome to the domain of freedom." Cale softly said deliberately deepening his voice so they wouldn't be able to tell it was him.

"I guess you have already learnt everything from Azrael." Cale didn't know but when he said Azrael's name it was full of affection.

"Yes." Lee Soohyuk and Choi Jungsoo noticed it, not that they would point it out. Azrael had told them about white star and the sealed god.

"Then you two should know why you two died and that child was affected by the curse?" They knew who they died but they didn't know about the curse at all.

"What curse?" Choi Jung Soo blurted out.

"Huh?" Cale was confused at two souls' shock. "You two didn't know? Hadn't Azrael mentioned it?"

Lee Soo hyuk shook his head, the god of death hadn't even mentioned about it after they arrived.

"Alright then i will explain it for you two, listen carefully i won't say it twice." Cale said to two souls, seeing the two souls nod.

He begins to explain how Rok soo was supposed to be born in that world but his body was robbed by white star and because of that he was born in korean with White star's curse of everything he loved would die.

The two Koreans didn't know what to feel at the revelation, they felt sorrowful for their dongsaeng's fate.

They had a feeling that Kim Rok Soo must be blaming himself for their death.

"Why are we here?" Lee Soohyuk asked, he didn't understand why that mysterious god brought them here and told them stuff Azrael didn't want to inform them. Choi Jung Soo hearing Soo Hyuk's question also looked towards Cale.

"I'm short of people." Cale bluntly said, making the two Koreans stupefied.

They could hear sincerity and honesty when the mysterious god said that. An honest god admitting they were short of people was really unheard of.

"I only have my angel and blessed child of mine." Two Koreans didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the bluntness of the god.

"What will we gain from helping you?" Lee Soo hyuk straightforwardly asked, it's not that he wasn't afraid of the god but his guts were telling him to be straightforward.

"What do you two want?" The mysterious god asked instead of promising them a favourable thing.

That made two Koreans believe that the god had given them their own choice to decide what they want from the god. What a strange god, to make others decide the benefit of the deal, was that god not afraid of getting scammed? Or just sure that others wouldn't dare to scam him.

Cale was just being generous to two men who had taken care of his dongsaeng, otherwise he wouldn't have given them freedom to choose what they want from him in favour of helping him.

"Then can we decide later?" Choi Jung Soo asked, as he watched as the mysterious god nodded slightly.

"That can be done." Cale answered, then he waved his hand and a sharp thing flew towards them. The two Koreans catched the thing with one hand. Opening their palm they saw a necklace with a crystal crimson crescent moon with a golden chain.

"That necklace will allow you two to contact me." They heard the mysterious god's voice.

"Rest will be explained by my angel. I will send you two there." The two Koreans heard the mysterious god saying that. They stood up and bowed slightly when they were teleported to a floating island.

In front of them was a traditional korean vila.

The man was ethereal beauty, slim but sturdy, sand glass hours like waist
The man was ethereal beauty, slim but sturdy, sand glass hours like waist.

Well the man was beautiful for sure.

"Welcome" the man politely said. Just like his god he was polite.

"Thank you" Two Koreans said, they had been politely greeted by two strong individuals.

"Please follow me inside." Cale gestured toward the villa, seeing other two nod Cale opened the door and went inside.

Taking off their shoes, the two Koreans gestured to sit down while the saint of a mysterious god made tea for them.

Without anything to do, two Koreans looked around the house and found it was like an ancient house. No tv but a small garden with a pool filled with fishes.

They watch as the angel with a tray of tea sets comes towards them.

The saint was elegant at everything he did, like how he sat looked elegant, also pleased to see and the way he poured the tea and gave them.

"You two must have a lot of questions?" They heard the angel saying, and yes they had a lot of things to ask.

Cale smiled at the two men in front of him, the reason why he had let them meet an angel version of himself was so that they wouldn't hold themself back.

Cale, seeing the two men not talking but looking at him dazedly, wondered what happened to them.

He didn't know that his smile dazzled two men. Two Korean men snapped out when the smiling face of the angel changed to confusion.

"Ahem" Choi Jung soo fake coughed into his hand.

"What are we going to do?" Lee Soo Hyuk smiled as he asked.

"Build a secret village." Cale said as he took a sip from his tea. Korean duo titled their heads at strange missions.

"A village to hide people from the eyes of gods." Cale answered their silent question.

"As you know, in order for Choi Han to fall into the road towards heroism something must happen. And that something is the massacre of Harris village." Cale told two men who were listening intently. Choi Jung Soo felt an ache in his heart for his uncle.

Lee Soo Hyuk fell into deep thoughts. "Is the village for Harris village people?"

Cale's attention shifted towards Lee Soo Hyuk, seeing the man staring at him Cale's lips curved upwards.

"Don't ask obvious things." Cale said the same thing as his dongsaeng always used to say. It seems Roksu had influenced Cale, while Cale was amused at realising his dongsaeng's habit was rubbing off on himself.

The Korean duo were stunned at the familiar sentence their dongsaeng always used to say.

"How are we going to do that without gods noticing it?" Choi Jung Soo coming out of the mix of feelings asked.

"Easy let them die." Cale answered Choi Jung Soo's question calmly. The Korean duo didn't say anything or acted as they were waiting for the angel to continue.

They weren't stupid to question or controlled by their emotions. They were sure that the angel in front of them hadn't finished what he was saying and just tested their reaction to see if they were smart enough to notice the test.

If it was a normal person then that person might become emotional and question the angel in front of them.

Too bad they weren't that normal after having a conversation with two gods and now with angels also they hadn't forgotten they were in a fantasy world.

Cale was satisfied with their reaction. "We will evacuate the villagers one day before it happens in secret then change them with a puppet. So as to let Choi Han think they villagers were dead in that way the God of Balance would be fooled. Since Choi Han will murder the attackers only he will be a witness."

"Ohh" Lee and Choi let out an understanding noise.

"Do Choi Han really need to be deceived?" Choi Jung Soo asked, he felt really bad for his uncle. Lee Soo Hyuk looked at the angel in the enquiry.

"It must be done that way otherwise someone else will pay the price." Cale has a strict voice, with a frown on his face.

"Even if my lord saved them, he would have to pay an equal price. Last time my lord saved a pair of children from their cruel fate he had to give away his half of divine power." The Korean duo realised the mysterious god had already tried but with a price to pay.

"After all my lord is just a newling." Cale adds to two duo who just reached realization.

"Newling?" Lee Soo Hyuk was puzzled at what the angel meant by that, he had guesses but in the end it was just guesses without confirmation.

"My lord, he was just born about 8 years ago." Cale didn't consider his way of saying it made it seem like the god was an 8 years old child.

So misunderstanding was created, Henituse siblings wouldn't be Henituse crimson haired siblings if they don't create misunderstandings.

Lee Soo Hyuk felt his world view had been forcefully changed, a 8 years old child is a god? And that 8 year old trying to save an unfortunate human's fate? He didn't know how it feels to lose half of their power but it shouldn't be pleasant.

Choi Jung Soo as a fantasy book reader wasn't that much shocked at 8 years old becoming god but still it was bewildering. He was more concerned about the health of the young god.

It shouldn't be an easy thing for a newly born god to lose half of divine power.

Maybe that was why he and Soohyuk were carried by clouds instead of getting summoned like how God of Death did. No wonder the god only had two followers.

"If Azrael is god of death then what about our lord?" Choi Jung Soo with his fantasy world knowledge asked. That caught Lee Soo Hyuk's attention from his bewilderment of an 8 years old god.

"Our lord is the god of freedom." Cale seriously said, he wasn't making up but it was his own divine power had hinted at. He hypothesised how he had become god of freedom. It must be when he saved two souls who longed for freedom.

Ajax the dragon half blood longed to leave that cave and the red dragon egg also longed for escape from his death. Answering their desires for freedom made him entitled as god of freedom.

"Does our lord not have a name?" Lee Soo Hyuk noted that the angel didn't say anything about the name of their god.

Chapter 5: A strange group of beings

Chapter Text

"No, he hadn't received or thought about a name for himself as he is busy." Cale was really busy with spoiling his little brother, thinking about future plans, slowly recovering his power, trying to pull these two souls, sending presents to Ajax and two dragons and talking to Azrael.

So yeah, he didn't have time to think about a name for himself.

Cale was lost in his thoughts, missing the sad and sympathetic looks of the other two. Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo felt really pity for the busy god, a child who doesn't have time to rest because he was busy with helping others.

"Do you two want more tea?" Cale noticed the solemn expression on two men asked in puzzlement.

Two Korean men looked down to their cup, seeing it was empty, two men turned to Cale's direction and saw Cale's dazzling smile. They slowly with blank faces pushed the cup towards the beautiful angel.

Cale happily poured the tea he brewed with cherry blossom fruit. Then he gently and gracefully pushed the cups to their owner.

"Where are we going to build the village?" Lee Soo Hyuk averted his eyes from the happy angel and looked down to the colourful tea.

"The Path of No Return, a place filled with mysterious fog." Choi Jung Soo nodded in agreement, that place was a really good place to hide since no one would recklessly enter. Even if they did, they won't be able to leave that place without a guide.

"You two don't have to worry about labour as there will be puppets to help build the houses." Cale informed the duo sigh in relief as they were also worried about how only two of them were going to build a whole house, not to mention a village.

"Can we design what the houses would look like?" Choi Jung Soo asked as he wanted to build a korean style house.

"That can be done but make my residence the same as this house." Cale thought for a second before answering, he wanted to have the same house he had lived with his dongsaeng on the earth.

'That can be done, since I was already going to make all houses the same as the korean style house.' Choi Jung Soo thought as he nodded towards Cale.

"Alright then now two of you would need to choose your race." Cale stretched out his right hand forward, on his hand appeared 10 small balls each having a different colour.

Lee Soo Hyuk grabbed a ball with a bird symbol, while Choi Jung Soo grabbed a dragon symbol.

"Swallow it." Cale told them, they hesitated for a second before swallowing the small balls, there wasn't a taste and they felt just warmth flowing through their body.

Lee Soo Hyuk's hair changed into white, red eyes and black wings appeared and he became a child around 10 years old. As for Choi Jung Soo, he became a small white dragon, with vertical pale blue pupils.

Lee Soo Hyuk who suddenly shrunken was a starlet then not long after he saw across him Choi Jung Soo turn into a small white dragon.

Cale felt they looked cute, especially Choi Jung Soo's dragon form. That is how he startled the little dragon by hugging him. Cale was weak against cute things because he loves small and cute things.

Choi Jung Soo could smell a fresh rose from the man who was hugging him.

It felt comfy when the man started to rub him, he ignored Lee Soo Hyuk's envious looks directed at him and enjoyed the blessing of getting hugged and rubbed by this ethereally beautiful man.

In Choi Jung Soo's disappointment he was released not long after that for serious matters.

Lee Soo Hyuk decided to change his name to Sui Khan. Choi Jung Soo was just lazy so he decided to use his favourite mc name Klein Moriarty.

Klein ignored Sui Khan's side eyes, he was busy smiling brightly at the angel in front of him.

"Our lord said you two are allowed to meet Kim Rok Soo once everything is stable." That stopped the boys from simping at Cale's beauty.

Birdie and dragon looked at each other, it seemed they could meet their dongsaeng but not the right way.

Cale took out two rings with crimson diamonds. "Use this to contact me if you ever need something."

Two men took the ring before putting them on, Cale then took out two small pouches and pushed it towards them. Opening it they almost blinded at the mountain of golden coins inside.

"Use that for your needs." They suddenly felt the man was shining. Is this how Rok Soo feels when he sees money, was what they were thinking at that moment.

"Alright our time ends here, let's meet later." Cale smiled at two men.

"You two will be directly teleported to Path of no return with puppets and once you two finish your mission we will meet again." Cale stood up and walked towards the door followed by two men. They wore their shoes and stepped out of the house and walked down stairs that had appeared who knew when.

Outside was filled with crimson fogs and a big crimson moon was there.

They walked for 10 minutes before reaching a big stone portail. Cale stood beside the portal and gestured to them to enter the portal.

If they guess right then going through the portal will teleport them to their destination. They looked at each other before deciding they would enter at the same time.

Once they were one step away from the portal they turned to look at Cale.

"See you later" Both of them said at same time, Cale nodded at them.

"My name is Cale Henituse, if you two ever need to help come to Henituse county!" They heard Cale's clear voices as they entered the portal.

Cale watches as two young men's backs disappear from his sight. Then he turned around, walked towards the other side of the portal. There was another portal with gold decorated, on top of it was a small gold dragon sitting on it.

It was a portal to Eruhaben's lair, Cale changed into his black and red attire before stepping into the portal.

He was going to meet with Ajax, red Dragon and Eruhaben.

For Cale it only had been 8 years whilst for others it had been 500 years. So the red dragon egg had already hatched, a red dragon with blue eyes appeared from the cracked egg.

Ajax had become a healthy handsome man, under Eruhaben's teaching he became the youngest archmage. But because of White star he had to live in hiding so no one but dragons knew.

He was also blessed by the god of freedom, Cale had chosen him as his saint, doing so Ajax could hear people wishing for freedom. Because of that Ajax ended up journeying to help those people and spreading the belief of the god of freedom. Although he could not help everyone, he did his best to save those who needed it.

Eruhaben had been astonished when he felt Ajax's saint aura. Not expecting the unknown god to make Ajax a saint.

Ajax was a good student learning everything fast, Eruhabe noticed the child's puppet-like response sometimes and the nightmare.

Eruhaben didn't like how the child had low-self esteem and it didn't help after hearing the child's past. So he did his best to teach the boy to be proud but respectful.

Then Eruhaben noticed every month there would be different types of present's from the god for him and Ajax.

Expensive clothes, jewelleries, swords and divine relics.

If he were to say it was like a parent spoiling their child.

Then sometimes the god would visit them, have a conversion before leaving.

When Ajax became a saint, Eruhaben smelled strong freedom from him, that was when he understood the unknown god was god of freedom.

It was no wonder the god had saved that unlucky punk.

Today was the day the god of freedom will be descending to his lair. So Eruhaben had shoo-ed away other elves but let Pendrick stay because the boy had already met the god so there was no need to hide from him.

As for Pendrick, he was the luckiest elf in the world after all he was able to meet an almighty god. So he was excited to meet the god again.

Ajax and Red dragon were in a good mood as their saviour and father was coming.

And yes they were adopted by the god of freedom, although they don't meet a lot their father was affectionate towards them and always pampered them.

Even if they don't meet, they always talk to each other through the necklace their father gave them.

If the god was their father then the ancient dragon was their grandfather just like their father said.

"It feels like I'm leaving my children at their grandparents' house because I'm going to work?" That was what their father said at that time when two of them were hugged by each arm of their father.

When Cale appeared at Eruhaben's lair he was attacked by two children into a hug.

"Welcome back dad!" Two excited voices, Cale almost lost his balance if he had been prepared for his children's attack.

"Yes yes, I am back." Cale rubbed the two children's heads. Cale smiled at two children, it was nice to be welcomed back. He hadn't meant to adopt two 500 years old children, it was just a comment from Eruhaben made him adopt two children.

['Are you sure they aren't your children?' Eruhaben with doubtful eyes had asked Cale who was just about to drink wine. Good thing Cale hadn't sipped the wine otherwise he would have choked on it.

'Of course not, they aren't my children and I'm not even a dragon so how could I lay an egg?' Cale was speechless as he said that. Eruhaben raised one eyebrow at Cale who suddenly had a very good idea.

'I have decided I shall adopt them!' Cale declared, it might sound normal and simple but by the way Cale smiling, the smile was so wide and bright that Eruhaben pity Ajax and red dragon. ]

Cale heard snort, looking away from children to the ancient dragon. Cale rolled his eyes at Eruhaben, they had become good friends.

"Now now, Ajax, Jayu release your father." Eruhaben said as he dragged Ajax from his clothes collar then red dragon Jayu by tail.

"Goldie gramps, release by tail!!" Jayu's head turned towards Eruhaben who was still holding his tail. Jayu tried to shake away Eruhaben's hand by shaking his tail up and down then right and left. Jayu hadn't noticed the amusem*nt in Eruhaben's eyes. Cale and Ajax watch Eruhaben tease Jayu with entertainment.

It went on for 10 minutes, meanwhile Cale, Ajax and Pendrick had already gone towards the long table with seats having tea cherry blossom fruit tea he had brought from his god domain.

Cale took out a jar filled with cherry jam and gave it to Pendrick who received it joyfully after all the jam was filled with divine power. The jam had actually made Pendrick see the elements and his healing ability become strong too.

Pendrick had been surprised at first not understanding how he could see the elements.

Other elves and elements also were surprised at the sudden change in Pendrick. They wanted to go and ask the world tree but Eruhaben stopped them, as he was sure it was because of Cale and Eruhaben knew that Cale didn't wish for other gods to become aware of his existence as god.

Once he ordered elves and elements to not spread Pendrick's change, he brought Pendrick to his lair and asked what Cale had given him.

Pendrick honestly said that he had eaten jam given by Ajax and the said jam was from Cale to his two children. Eruhaben sighed as he remembered the said jam Ajax and Jayu always received from the god. Eruhaben explained to the confused elf that the jam he had eaten was from the divine realm so it was filled with the spiritual aura.

Pendrick had almost fainted hearing that, poor elf.

"Here, try this juice made from cherry." Cale grabbed a juice jar filled with red liquid together with crystal glasses out of nowhere. After filling the juice into the glasses he gave them to Ajax and Pendrick, Cale didn't forget to fill for two dragon.

Two dragon's who were bantering, smelled a sweet smell, stopped and walked/flew towards the table.

They grabbed juice and sat down, with Cale's full of anticipation staring at them. Four being used to the red haired staring slowly sipped savouring sour-sweet the taste of the juice.

They all liked it, the sour and sweetness in the juice was just right amount, not too sweet or too sour and they felt refreshed from drinking it.

"It's good," Eruhaben said as he licked his lips then continued drinking. Eruhaben felt his fatigue of taking care of two troublemakers disappear.

"I like this drink! Never have I ever drank sour but sweet juice!" Jayu happily said as his wings fluttered, he smiled brightly at his father before his face was almost inside the glass.

"Cale-nim, is it made of cherry?" Pandrick asked, he tasted cherry from the juice. There was once a time he luckily consumed the raw freshly picked cherry and it had an unimaginable full divine spirit.

Seeing Cale nod, Pendrick respectfully smiled at Cale. Meeting Cale brought him a lot of miracles in his life, from not being able to see elements to seeing them and his healing ability increased to the point where he could heal any injuries from dead mana.

Cale was kind to him, giving him unlimited divine stuff that humans would guard or hide it away.

"Father, did you brew it by yourself? If so, could you give me a recipe? I want to try brewing it." Ajax felt light, his tiredness for magic over search dissipated. If it is possible then he wants to brew some for himself to drink when he is exhausted from overworking. Also experiment on it to see if he could create a drink to make one energetic.

Suddenly a shiver ran down on the three being's spine, they simultaneously turned to Ajax's direction and saw a glint of curiosity and enthusiasm.

'Oh no' was all they could think when they saw that expression, they were going to suffer from Ajax's experiment.

They remembered the evil smiled Ajax with white coat walking towards them with a test tube. The three beings pleadingly looked at Cale, their eyes were filled with terror and horror.

Chapter 6: The family moment

Chapter Text

Cale didn't understand why they were looking at him like that, it was no surprise as Ajax had always shown Cale his innocent side rather than his crazy scientist side.

If any of them tried to snitch on him to Cale, he would interrupt them and take away Cale's attention with his new creation and then send them a dark smile.

Their lives were anything but leisurely due to Ajax's incessant experimentation. Eruhaben occasionally regretted imparting his knowledge of magical experimentation to Ajax, yet he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in nurturing a successful archmage who possessed a fervent passion for research.

Ajax, seemingly possessing a 360-degree field of vision, cast puppy-dog eyes toward Cale, who found himself defenceless against the charms of his children, already 500-year-old adult puppies. Mustering a weak smile for the others present, before producing a snow white scroll with his divine power, the scroll spread open and a fancy feather pen appeared and by Cale's will it began to write down the recipe of cherry juice.

Cale evaded the exasperated gaze of Eruhaben, the aggrieved wide eyes of Jayu, and the horrified expression on Pendrick's face.

"Ahem, I have sent my two new angels to Path of no return for a mission, I want you all to aid them once they finish their mission." Cale diverted everyone's attention from the gloomy atmosphere, not that Ajax needed it as he was full of enthusiastic mood.

"Aid them?" Ajax finally came out of his crazy scientist phase and confusedly asked.

"They are planning to construct a village but may encounter obstacles, such as difficulties in sourcing the right materials," Cale remarked with a troubled expression.

'Constructing a Korean house is not the same as how houses were built here in the fantasy world.'

Ajax's face brightened up, what his father was indirectly saying there would be a chance to need research and experiment.

As for the other three their faces perked up at the possibility of sending off Ajax the crazy scientist.

"We can do that!" Jayu the youngest of all, without no hesitation cheerfully responded to Cale. He was thinking of pushing his hyung to his father's angels.

Eruhaben agreed with Jayu's thoughts knowing what the little kid was thinking. Pendrick felt as though he had been rescued from the clutches of demons at the mention of assistance. If he were to help someone, he wouldn't necessarily remain in the same place with Ajax.

Ajax was amused as he guessed what two dragons and an elf were thinking. His lip's curved upwards and his eyes curved downwards like crescent moon as he envisioned the future experiments he was about to carry out.

Cale wasn't anticipating an eager response from the four beings.

Well it was welcoming for Cale who is just only 8 years old. To be honest everyone was surprised to learn the mortal body of Cale's was just a small child.

400 years ago, Cale revealed his true name to them after adopting Ajax and Jayu, declaring, "Henceforth, you shall be known as Ajax Henituse and Jayu Henituse!"

Jayu liked his name because it means 'freedom'. According to Ajax, the name suited him well. Confused, Jayu asked, "How so?" Ajax then proceeded to recount how they were once held captive in a cave by a deranged white bastard.

Eruhaben had muttered "unlucky bastard" once he found out Cale hadn't even been born yet at that time. Not that he was wrong about that but still Cale was offended that he gave the ancient dragon a sourest lemon tea.

Eruhaben's reaction made Cale laugh for the whole week.

"Right! here it was successful." Cale tossed an orb perched upon a golden holder. The orb's left side was adorned with golden thread, intricately woven into a seamless, curled pattern to Eruhaben.

"The lair will appear once you insert your mana into the orb." Eruhaben catched the orb, probing into the orb he saw a lair exactly a copy of his lair but with the addition of a cherry blossom tree and a spring. Eruhaben had asked Cale to create a orb where he could take with himself since the day he learnt about white bastard's plan of creating a dragon by using dragon's hearts.

Eruhaben had been enraged at how white sh*t was going to plant Jayu's heart to Ajax to make him chimaera.

Eruhaben felt distressed at two children's fate if Cale hadn't saved them. It was no wonder Cale named the red dragon Jayu, a truly fitting name.

Regarding Ajax's name, it symbolises an eagle. Cale bestowed this name upon him because eagles are often associated with qualities such as strength, power, freedom, and majesty in various cultures and mythologies.

After knowing his name's meaning Ajax had been moved because there was meaning behind his name.

Ajax from books he got from Eruhaben had read about eagles, they free creatures as they fly freely through the sky. In his past life he had been restricted even though he was half dragon he couldn't fly freely.

Ajax could hear the unsaid intention 'Be like an eagle, soaring high in the sky as if you own it!'

Yes he was free from the dreadful future he had in his past life. He had a loving father, stun-goldie gramps, kind elf uncle and a little brother.

Eruhaben had warned every dragon he knew, the scheme of white bastards. Needless to say every dragon had strengthened their weariness and prepared for any unexpected attack. They are always ready to teleport away.

"Ho, never in my long life have I ever seen such a thing." Eruhaben couldn't help but say, then his eyes sparkled as he swiftly looked at Cale, making Cale shudder at the calculating eyes.

"W-what do you want?" Cale shifted from his seat, he felt really anxious at the unblinking eyes of the ancient dragon.

"How much do you have this thing?" Eruhaben interestedly asked, he didn't look away from Cale. Ajax gave his father a pitying look, Jayu titled his head in confusion and Pendrick looked away as he felt what he was witnessing undignified.

"How much do you need?" Cale asked instead of responding. Cale wondered if he made a mistake in asking that question seeing Eruhaben's eyes were particularly shining.

Eruhaben sent a glance towards Ajax who seemed to get what the ancient dragon was planning.

'Oh, Goldie gramps is smart.' Ajax smirked, he smiled sweetly at his father who stiffened up, Ajax corner of his eyes saw Pendrick flinch at seeing his sweet smile.

'I mean who wouldn't, last time Ajax smiled like that was when a mercenary was scammed into giving away his wealth location. Although that mercenary was a bad guy, still looting his whole wealth was really ruthless.' Pendrick couldn't help but think with grimace. He wasn't a naive elf like in the past, if you want to blame someone for taking his innocence then blame Ajax.

Pendrick misses his days as an innocent little elf, but Ajax this demon had installed a lot of bad things into his head.

Pendrick: o(〒﹏〒)o 'No wonder the dragon-nim called him unlucky brat.'

"Father, please give us 30 pieces of orbs." Ajax's sweet voice sounded beside Cale's ears as if he was sitting beside him. In truth Ajax was sitting across him and Cale was just imagining it because of his nervousness.

Σ(°△°|||)︴Cale nervously gave 30 orbs to Ajax, maybe because of his nervousness the orbs automatically floated to Ajax.

Cale sipped the cherry juice with trembling hands as he could see a dragon and archmage chuckling in low volume. He didn't want to ask what they were thinking about at all.

Cale took out necklaces with crimson moon, using his power he sent it to four individuals. Then a hundred jars of cherry juice appeared on the table. "Show the necklace to my two angels as confirming your connection to me and I brewed too much juice so feel free to disturb it among yourself."

"Are you going now?" Jayu asked, he was disappointed at his father leaving.

"Yes, I have to go now." Cale patted on Jayu's head with a smile.

"You can come once 10 years have passed to me." At that Jayu and Ajax perked up, finally they could go and meet their father.

"See you later!" Cale said as he waved, he disappeared as he saw others waving at him.

Cale immediately went back to his 8 years old body not wasting time as his spiritual awareness warned him that Ron's 10 steps away from entering the office.

Cale let out a sigh of relief as he arrived on time as he could hear knocking on the door.

"Enter" Cale wasn't going to risk, Ron had been with him since he was born and had changed his sh*t so the man knew him more than his own father. Well everyone except Deruth knows Cale like the back of their hand.

Cale didn't look up as he continued signing on the paperworks.

"Young master, from what this old man found out, it seems there were some wolves in the house." Ron's voice was filled with amusem*nt but if you listen closely you can sense danger and menacing.

Cale paused his pen, with a dark face he looked up. "Roksu?"

"Two sentences from two different people." Ron answered knowing what his young master was asking.

Ron's bening smile widened at Cale's raised eyebrow and sharpness of those eyes. "Beacrox did as you ordered but a little late!"

"Hm" Cale hummed much to Ron's amusem*nt, Cale then looked down again as he ordered Ron with a cold voice.

"Ron take the document beside me and you know what to do." Ron raised an eyebrow, he knew what his puppy young master meant and it was still hard to believe his sunny puppy master to become a hound.

"After all we are family, show them some hospitality and give advice for their better life?" Cale's face was aloof but his tone was delightful. Ron was taken aback once again by his master's skillful and smoothly changing his voice tune.

'Ho, his two young masters were full of mystery. From what his son told him, the kitten young master didn't flinch at the sight of his son cutting a tongue.' Ron thought as he took hold of the document and left the office. One thing was clear to Ron. 'His young masters were wolves in sheep's clothes. Hohohohoh'

Cale and Roksu suddenly felt a shiver on their spine. They wondered what had they done to provoke Ron Molan.

Cale stopped working once time to sleep, letting Ron and Hans fix the office he elegantly walked through the corridor towards Roksu's room, Cale wasn't going to let his dongsaeng sleep alone as one day since their mother died.

Roksu's too young to be left alone on such a mournful day like how his father left him.

Even if Cale knew Roksu's mentally old, in his eyes Roksu will always be his baby brother who needs to be spoiled. Cale didn't want Roksu to think Cale was avoiding him or something more stupid thoughts like their mother died because of him.

"Dongsaeng!!" Cale cheerfully opened Roksu's room door but he paused once he saw servants kneeling in front of Roksu who was sitting on his bed looking at the servants sharply while Beacrox was standing by Roksu's side with his snow white gloves ready to take care of said servant.

"Uhh are you busy?" Cale awkwardly asked as he stretched his check's with his index finger.

How to say this but his dongsaeng seemed to be surprised at his question and Beacrox giving him side eyes? Cale didn't know his brother was taken aback but since Roksu was busy Cale could wait outside until he finished his business?

"Since you are busy I will be waiting outside! Call me once you are finished!" With that Cale left without waiting for Roksu's response. That is how he missed Roksu's incredulous gaze and Beacrox's approving eyes.

Roksu didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his brother's antics, he actually wanted to solve it before Cale came to his bedroom to accompany him.

Roksu was thankful at Cale's thoughtfulness as he really needed a person beside himself otherwise he would have maybe become depressed and live in misery thinking it was his fault that their mother died. Roksu didn't need Deruth at all because he had his hyung who would comfort him every chance he got.

As for why the servants were kneeling in front of, it was because they were bad mouthing his hyung and from what Beacrox said those servants come from a side family.

By the looks of his hyung and Beacrox action he is allowed to be ruthless than his naive and childish side.

"Beacrox gave them to Ron." Roksu ordered as he jumped down from his bed and walked towards the door. When he opened the door he saw his hyung with Ron standing out there.

Roksu almost shutted door if his hyung hadn't smiled at him and come towards him. Roksu felt his hyung hold his arm before turning to look at Ron and calmly dismissed him with a childish voice. "Ron takes care of those servants and I wish to meet them tomorrow with proper etiquette."

"As you wish, young master this Ron shall give them fair punishment." Ron bowed as he calmly said with a bening smile. Then he left with his son and three servants.

Roksu felt the old man was vicious.

Cale guided Roksu to the comfy bed, climbing on the bed and laid down.

Roksu looked at his hyung laying on his side, patting him in gentle rhythm. It felt nice and made him sleepy. Roksu saw Cale softly smiling at him and wondered why Cale didn't say anything when he saw the three servants kneeling.

"There is no reason for me to ask why a servant is kneeling." Cale softly said, it seems Roksu had said it out loud.

"Why?" Roksu couldn't help but ask then he saw his hyung's eyes softened and filled with trust.

"Because our Roksu must have a reason to do that. And whatever that reason is, our Roksu will always be right to whatever he does or says." Roksu didn't know why but he felt warm upon hearing those words. Maybe because of the trust in Cale's eyes or sincerity in his voice.

"Sleep, don't think about anything but rest, it must have been hard for you." Cale softly said as it was true, they had been greeting and seeing out guests from early on to afternoon. The preparation of funerals and comforting their father.

Talking to low iq-ed nobles and having to deal with their maternal family filled with venom.

Roksu wanted to also comfort Cale but his hyung was damn good at lulling him to sleep in a second. Where did such skill even come from was lasting lingering in his head as he heard soft hums.

Chapter 7: Family drama

Chapter Text

Cale how had taken care of Kim Rok Soo in the middle of gaining his godhood had his own tricks and not to mention he had two 500 year old babies to put to sleep.

Once Cale was sure that Roksu fell asleep, he got up from the bed quietly and called out softly. "Ron, give me a noise cancelling item."

Ron, who was standing outside upon hearing Cale's soft voice with his assassin ears, came in and gave an black crystal to Cale. Cale put the crystal beside Rokus and a noise cancelling barrier materialized around them.

"Ron there are rats outside!" Cale pointed towards the balcony, his face becoming indifferent as he ordered coldly. "Take care of them."

Ron vanished without a word, leaving behind an eerie silence. As the balcony door creaked open, a rush of wind swept into the room, carrying with it the fresh air of nature. However, that freshness quickly soured as the scent shifted from crisp to coppery, tinged with the unmistakable tang of blood.

Cale blinked, his gaze drawn to the full moon hanging in the sky outside. Its serene glow cast a peaceful ambiance over the scene, but the scent of blood tainted the tranquillity. He felt that Roksu might sit outside and bask in the moonlight, but the foul odour made it impossible to enjoy.

Cale's gaze flickered towards the left corner of the room, where a beam of moonlight did not illuminate. In that darkness, he discerned a presence that would have gone unnoticed by a normal child. However, Cale was no ordinary child; he was a god and saint of Death.

To the assassin's dismay, Cale was keenly aware of the additional presence in the room, despite its attempts to remain concealed.

Utilizing the shadows to his advantage, Cale swiftly subdued the assassin, rendering them unconscious. As the saint of death, he possessed unique abilities, including mastery over shadows, which proved invaluable in moments of danger.

Cale had made a solemn pact with Azrael, the god of death, to become his saint. In order to honour this commitment and to avoid drawing unwanted attention from other gods, Cale had sealed away his divine essence and the radiant aura of his godhood within his own domain. He had to do that if he wished to fulfil his promise to Azrael and avoid interference from other divine entities.

Cale couldn't help but wonder if, had Cage accepted Azrael's intention of making her the holy maiden, Cage might have taken care of the assassins sent by Venion without any difficulty.

Cale shook his head at his pointless thoughts, because Cale and his dongsaeng are here now. The tapping sound of shoes drew his attention, and he saw Ron standing atop the balcony's fence, which was neither thick nor thin.

"Young master, this Ron has eliminated all rats." Ron bening smiled but his eyes weren't on Cale instead to body laying unconscious there. As an assassin Ron without walking near the victim's body to know whether it's alive or dead.

"Ron, give that thing to Beacrox." Cale said as he moved away from the edge of bed to Roksu's side and then grabbed the crystal beside Roksu's head.

Cale didn't care how Ron would react to him knowing their secret. Cale had the feeling that Ron was trying to confirm how much Cale knew about their identity. And with that sentence Cale had confirmed that he knew their abilities.

'Ho' Ron was amused at his puppy young master's blunt admission, one could imagine Ron's flabbergasting to learn his puppy young master ordered a chef to protect his beloved younger brother.

Who in the Henituse household doesn't know that the heir loves his younger brother more than his father?

Poor count who isn't his children's favourite person.

Well Ron felt it was understandable why young master Roksu favoured eldest young master, even when Cale was busy he would find a time to speed time with his little brother unlike someone.

Two brothers are always there for each other, that action was more visible after the countess died. Ron hands itches whenever he remembers his puppy young master comforting the count then kitten young master and once kitten young master finished crying turned to comfort his puppy young master.

And the amused eyes of an 8 years old seeing his little brother trying to comfort him clumsily before ushering Roksu with a hug.

Ron couldn't get out the blank reddish brown eyes void of light as Cale had looked at his mother's body as if he knew something others didn't. Ron didn't understand what his puppy young master knew and if he remembered correctly the mother-son duo had a talk before countess left.

'Hohoho, his puppy young master is full of mysteries.' Ron thought as he left the room while dragging the unconscious assassin.

Cale did not shiver when Ron closed the door eerily quietly, yeah he was just cold.

Cale slipped into bed. He was going to sleep because he deserved it. Cale threw the crystal, who knows where, before using his divine power to conjure two crystal red butterflies, whispered goodnight, and sent it to his two children.

Next morning, Cale woke up smelling lemon tea. His brain supplemented it with F-grade lemonade tea.

'What a nice way of starting the day.' That alone made Cale in a good mood.

Cale heard snort far away from him, opening his eyes he saw his little brother already gotten up and eating cookies? Ron standing beside Roksu with his usually benign smile.

"Good morning young master Cale, it's time for breakfast." Ron made his way with a cup of lemonade tea. Cale took the tea from Ron and drank it in one go.

"Ron, prepare casual clothes today." Cale said he gave an empty cup to Ron, with Ron's help he got down from the bed and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Cale was wearing white t-shirt and black pants as he made his way towards the dining hall with Roksu. This time he wasn't going to personally ask his father to eat breakfast with them.

Cale had already been rejected in his first life and knew how hurtful it was to begin sent away, he didn't want his little brother to also feel hurt too.

"Ron, go ask father if he wants to eat with us." Or not, was left unsaid but everyone understood. In Ron's eyes the decision of his puppy young master was wise because somehow Ron had a feeling that coward father would reject them if they were to personally ask.

"As you wish, young master Cale." Ron wondered what made his puppy young master change his mind, as far as Ron knew his oldest young master who loves his family would have personally asked his father to eat with them.

'It must be the kitten young master Roksu.' That was the only thing that could change his puppy young master's mind. That may be the reason but how did his puppy young master come to conclusions of his father rejecting them? Ron's smile disappeared as his eyes sharpened.

'That means his puppy young master had tried to talk to his father but was rejected and alone at that.' Ron stood in front of the count's bedroom door, taking a deep breath before releasing it. Ron's usually benign smile returned but his eyes were still sharp.

"Count, young master Cale inquiries if you wish to have breakfast in your room or eat with them?" Ron knocked on the door three times before saying with a calm voice.

"Bring it to my room." Ron heard a hoarse voice behind the door. Ron had expected the count to reject but even so he thought the man would toughen up for his children.

"Yes my lord." With that Ron left without any hesitation, his lips thinned and eyes filled with mockery. 'What a coward.'

Ron instructed the kitchen to send breakfast to count's bedroom, then he returned to his two young masters' side.

"The count wishes to eat alone." Ron said while observing his two young masters' faces, the puppy young master seemed to be expecting it but with little disappointment as he shook his head and let out a sigh. Then his kitten's young master's stoic face showed displeasure and disapproving eyes.

If Ron were to say it was an interesting reaction, so different from a normal children reaction.

"Alright, let's eat shall we dongsaeng?" Cale although he felt sad that nothing changed about his father even after having two children, but this time he wasn't alone he had Roksu and Ron.

Roksu was angry, the novel hadn't mentioned that Cale Henituse was neglected by his father after his mother's death. Roksu looked at his brother's cheerful appearance. If one didn't look carefully you would have missed the sadness of the reddish brown eyes.

Roksu felt heartache as his hyung tried to be tough for his sake. By how hard Ron is clenching his fists it was clear Ron also saw how Cale was just acting tough.

Cale threw back the sad thought into the back of his mind, he had to make sure his brother ate things that didn't contain poison. In his first life he had been poisoned but because of his poison immunity it didn't affect him.

While he casually chewed the poisonous food just because it didn't have an effect on him.

It seems he needs to meet his aunt Lairy sooner than he anticipated. Cale didn't realized his action of carefully choosing food for Roksu raised a slight doubt from two people and then how he avoided certain dishes on the table alerted the two people.

One being an assassin and another a team leader, both of them were quite familiar with Cale's action as one using poison while the other is a victim who almost got poisoned because of his strength and position.

Roksu stared at his hyung who ate the poisoned dishes as if it wasn't mixed with poison in disbelief. As if sensing Roksu's stare, his hyung smiled at him making Roksu more bewildered. Roksu stiffly turned to Ron with wide eyes, while Ron was astonished as he watched his puppy young master poisonous dish before he could even stop him.

Ron felt the three red haired mother-sons were full of mystery and unique.

Ron continued watching Cale, not removing his eyes away even after he felt Roksu looking at him. He wanted to know the limit of immunity of Cale's, as he was ready to take out antidotes for all poison.

"What is wrong Roksu? Are the dishes not to your taste?" Cale worriedly asked to see Roksu not eating. Roksu wanted to hit Cale in the back of his head for worrying about him when he just ate a poisonous dish.

Roksu was anxious but didn't show his face, he wanted to question Cale why, how and since when the hell he became

immune to poison.

"No, I'm full." In the end Roksu didn't because Cale didn't want him to know about it.

"Oh okay then, Roksu do you want to read or take a nap? While I'm working?" Cale asked as he and Roksu got down from their seats and walked to the door.

"Read" Roksu answered with one word, one of things he loves about his hyung is that he Roksu didn't need to talk a lot and his hyung doesn't try to make him talk because he somehow magically understood what Roksu wanted with just one word.

"Hans bring the book Roksu was reading yesterday to my study and Ron bring all paperwork in fathers office to my study." Cale ordered, then he held Roksu's hand and gracefully walked through the corridor towards his study with Roksu.

Roksu amusedly watched his big brother walk gracefully but Roksu could feel how his hyung wanted to swing their hands back-and-forth by the way his hyung hand swung slightly.

When the red haired duo reached Cale's study, Ron and Hans were waiting outside the room. Roksu made himself comfy on the hanging egg chair not far away from the fireplace. Cale sat down at his table full of paperwork and started working.

"Hans bring cookies and sweet tea for Roksu." Not even a minute passed Cale ordered Hans who were standing on his left side.

"Second kitchen, young master Cale?" Hans asked in affirmation, Cale nodded towards him.

Roksu looked up from his book when he felt someone beside him and saw Hans putting down his favourite cookies with sweet tea. Roksu didn't need to ask why Hans brought them, considering this happens quite a lot when he spends time together with his hyung.

"Thank you Hans, tell hyung thanks too." Roksu said before putting a cookie into his mouth and started to read again.

Hans smiled brightly before going back to his original position and passed Roksu's thanks to Cale. Hans at first was shocked to hear an 8 year old doing paperwork. Hans felt sorry for his two young masters at how the count avoided them.

Hans was at first worried at Cale's sudden change of attitude but seeing how Cale was still the same as before with Roksu made him sigh in relief before it turned to heartache seeing as his eldest master acted cheerful in presence of the youngest master. And to see young master Roksu trying to comfort young master Cale was also heartbreaking.

The study was relaxing and peaceful as two brothers doing their own things.

"Young master Cale" Cale confusedly raised his head when he heard Ron's low voice, looking where Ron was pointing he saw Roksu sleeping.

Cale smiled at the sight of Roksu sleeping peacefully with a book fallen on his chest.

"Ron, take him to his room." Cale softly whispered.

"Yes young master." Ron responded before walking towards Roksu, lifted him in a princess hug then left.

Then Cale continued working.

"Nephew, how could you do this to us?" The door was loudly swung open, a brown haired woman walked in with a huffed and irritated face, there were two maids trying to restrain her from advancing.

Cale raised his hand and waved the maids away, the maids released the woman's arms, bowed and left making the let out indignant snort.

"What do you mean aunt Lairy?" Cale raised eyebrows, he had been thinking of seeking out her once he finished today's paperwork but to think she delivered herself to him.

"How could you withdraw money from the investment of opening an orphanage?" Lairy Henituse furiously said with her arm crossed.

"Aunty, there is no need for you to open an orphanage as the uncle Leonard had already been working on that." Cale calmly stated as it was true, Cale wasn't going to let the woman in front of him traffic children away from his own county. Furthermore Leonard Henituse was an righteous and kind man, Cale was willing to trust this uncle of his again.

"Even so you could have warned me!"

"Aunty, I had my butler informed about it, to your butler!"

"Cale, you can not decide it without your father's consent!"

Chapter 8: Dumb ways to die(not really)

Chapter Text

"Aunty, I had my butler informed about it, to your assistant!"

"Cale, you can not decide it without your father's consent!"

"Aunty, I assure you it was father's own decision!" Cale emphasises the last sentence. Cale didn't understand how this woman didn't take the hint.

Hans beside Cale sent sympathetic eyes to deal with a low iq-ed person who couldn't see she was talking to an heir not just a child.

"That can't be true!! He promised me to invest money in my project!"

"That is why I'm telling you to talk to my father about that personal project of yours!" Cale's patience was slipping away as the woman in front of him stupidly questioned him.

"But right now you are in charge." They said so was left unsaid but Cale guessed it with his high iq. Cale rubbed between his eyebrows wishing for some lemon tea then suddenly he smelled lemonade. Opening his eyes he saw Ron standing there with a bening smile while putting the tea on the table for him.

Cale for the first time in his life was happy to drink lemonade tea.

"Nephew-"

"How much do you want?" Cale interrupted the woman from saying unintelligent words again.

"100 billion." Lairy obviously not so smart answered greedily, Cale wondered why they sent a woman without an iq? Did they think he was just a naive child? Correct, the adults forgot about Cale's death stare as soon as they learnt it was Cale who was in control of the county.

Greed had blinded them, like how love lower iq the greed had lowered their iq and memory.

Cale harshly put down the tea he was drinking startling the woman who was looking at him with greedy eyes. 100 billion was nothing for the Henituse family but Cale wasn't going to give money worth of increasing the livelihood of his people to greedy bastards who know nothing but do bad things with it.

"Aunty? What are you going to do with so much money?" Cale's voice deepened dangerously and the woman didn't notice it.

Ron and Hans looked at the woman in front of them sharply. They also know 100 billion isn't actually nothing but the way Cale refuses and rejects even raises his voice indicates that madam Lairy doesn't have good intentions.

"Since Leonard is going to open an orphanage, I'm planning to open an adventure guild!" Lairy happily told the real intention, through the adventure guild they wanted to open a secret underworld. At first they were going to use the excuse of opening an orphanage but suddenly the main family stopped investing, as the biggest investor is the main family if they stopped then they will be short of money.

"I see, but no I can't give such a big amount of money without my father's permission as aunty said!" Cale used her word against her, he was satisfied to see her face flushing red with irritation.

"WHAT!! YOU JUST SAID YOU WOULD GIVE ME THE MONEY!" Lairy raises her voice, almost making Cale deaf.

Hans grimaced, Ron frowned at the sight of an undignified lady yelling at his puppy young master.

"Aunty, are you treating me as stupid?" Cale coldly asked.

"Do you think I wouldn't notice the poison you all mixed into our dishes?" Ron froze, he had guessed the dishes were poisoned but did not think it was the- two young masters family members who were poisoning the children.

Hans frowned at what he just heard, when had the dishes mixed with poison? It seems he has a lot of stuff to report to fool count.

"Or it was you'll hire the assassins? Hmm?" Cale once again dropped a bomb to Hans who didn't know about this all.

"Since father loved you all, i thought of turning blind eye but how dare you try to touch my brother?" Cale coldly stared at the woman who was sweating and anxious. Cale would have turned blind eye like in his first life if they hadn't specifically targeted Roksu too.

"Ron, throw them out! All of them except Uncle Leonards family." Cale coldly ordered not caring how the woman in front of him tried to say something.

"Ban them from Henituse county!" Ron's smile widened at his puppy young master's order.

"Hans help Ron." Hans comes out of his shock. "Yes young master Cale!"

The two butlers with indifferent faces grabbed each arm of the horrified woman and dragged her out.

Cale let out a sigh, he was so tired at dealing with that once more.

********

Cale blankly looked up from the paperwork.

Roksu closed his book, setting it aside and walked towards Cale.

"What did you say?" Cale didn't know his voice was shaking as he asked. Roksu also frowned, he was worried about his hyung. The butler, servants and assistant inside the study lowered their eyes with distress and displeasure towards their count.

"Count Henituse left the county." Hans was uncomfortable to inform his young masters that their father left them.

"Oh" Cale didn't expect the time to fly fast, it was already that day huh?

'Oh?' Hearing that everyone looked towards Cale who had a blank face then watched as it turned worried. They wonder what their young master was worried about when they saw him turning to look at the youngest master Roksu.

Roksu closely watched Cale's reaction, when realization and understanding flashed through Roksu was bewildered. Why was his hyung not showing a normal reaction of a child being abandoned by their father? But understand why their father left and have realisation that they were the reason their father left them?

Why was his hyung looking at him worriedly instead of worrying about himself? Why was his hyung kind towards their father who abandoned them?

Roksu didn't know why he wanted to cry.

Maybe because of his young body?

Roksu felt himself changed since he was reincarnated here. He was still himself but when it came to Cale Henituse his hyung. Roksu felt it's impossible to control his emotions.

Cale comforted his dongsaeng who suddenly started to cry.

"W-hy a-re you not a-ngry?" Roksu, as if the switch was flipped, started to bawling.

"About what?" Cale asked confusedly.

"Father" Cale didn't if it's his imagination but were Roksu's tone uhh indifferent when he said that?

Ron snickered at his puppy young master's ability to become oblivious at certain things. Ron also wanted to know why his puppy young master wasn't angry or sad. By looks of it everyone in the room was.

"Why would I be angry at him? Roksu sometime adults also need time. You know father has been with mother longer than us so it's hard for him to lose our mother." Cale responded honestly, that was what he thought in his first life.

Roksu was dumbfounded at Cale's words that he forgot he was crying.

'Had Cale also thought so in the birth of the hero? Had the 8 year old Cale thought his father needed time and waited for him but only to have him bring strangers into their life?' Roksu couldn't help but think that, no matter how he looked, it was just sad. Roksu felt sad for the Cale from the novel, that Cale didn't have Roksu all alone.

"Waaaa......hiccup"

*sob sob*

"Roksu? What is wrong? Why are you crying? Are you hurt?" Cale panickedly asked, not knowing why Roksu suddenly started to cry again.

Adults in the room were dumbstruck at the wise words of an 8 years old child. They suddenly felt their count didn't deserve these children in front of them. Younger brother was crying for his big brother because the older brother was too kind and understanding for his own good.

Ron suddenly had the urge to sharpen his daggers.

Hans regretted not beating some sense to his lord when he had a chance.

"Stupid brother!!" Roksu between his crying couldn't help but scold his idiot brother. Cale had a helpless smile as hugged his dongsaeng.

The adults nodded their heads at Roksu's words.

"Yes yes this brother of yours is stupid."

"Don't agree with me so easily!" Roksu hit Cale's chest softly without any force.

'Aigoo' Cale was really helpless at his dongsaeng's sudden outburst. Ron shook his head knowing his puppy young master's obliviousness had taken effect.

"Roksu, don't blame father, okay? He is really having a hard time grieving." Ron clicked his tongue, his whole demeanour changed into dangerous like an untamed beast. His puppy young master really doesn't know how to say the right thing at the right moment. 'Wrong thing to say.'

See!

His kitten young master started to cry harder.

Was Ron going to point it out to Cale?

Answer is no, he wasn't going to do that because if he pointed it out then his puppy young master might hide it behind his smiling face and stop being honest.

That was the least thing he was going to do.

Cale didn't let Ron hold Roksu instead he held his crybaby dongsaeng by himself towards his bedroom.

'Aigoo, how did my dongsaeng become a crybaby? Though it's better for him to let it out than bolting inside.' Cale not knowing why his baby brother was crying thought with his head nodding in approval.

If Roksu heard Cale's inner thoughts he would have hit him really hard.

Cale tucked Roksu into his bed, then went to the table and sofa in front of his bed. "Ron, bring me tea."

"Yes young master."

Listening to the door close, Cale took out the orb that had been lightning up and buzzing in his domain.

"Yes?" Cale answered not forgetting putting up barriers. Least someone hear him talking to his two angels.

"Cale, we have found a good area to develop the village." First thing that appeared on the orb was Lee Soo Hyuk's face so close that stunned Cale.

"Cale?" Not hearing the response Lee Soo Hyuk called.

"I see, then I will inform our lord. Just stay where you two are, through that our lord will send down a barrier." Cale snapped out of his shock, responded.

"Cale, are you okay?" Lee Soo Hyuk couldn't help but ask, seeing the tired face of an 8 year old child. At first Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo were shocked to see the child version of the angel Cale.

"I'm alright! Just busy." Cale smiled slightly at Lee Soo Hyuk. It was dismissal, Lee Soo Hyuk shut his mouth. Choi Jung Soo frowned, if he remembers correctly then the countess Henituse just passed away one day ago?

-------

Cale closed his eyes. Instead of erecting barriers directly as he had said, he decided to create a relic in case something happened to him in the future.

Once Roksu grew up into a fine young man, Cale planned to begin his hunt.

A crystal lotus appeared in Cale's palm, resplendent in its colourful beauty. With care, Cale infused the lotus with his divine power of freedom and death, ensuring that even if he were to fall into slumber or coma, it would continue to uphold the barrier with the saint of death's power.

Cale coughed violently, each spasm wracking his frame with intense discomfort. The taste of blood lingered on his tongue, a bitter reminder of the toll his actions had taken. As he doubled over, his vision swam with specks of darkness, the strain of channelling his power evident in the pounding ache that radiated from his temples.

With the last remnants of his dwindling power, Cale directed the crystal lotus towards the path of no return, before succumbing to unconsciousness. Oblivious to the consequences, he had forgotten that he now inhabited the body of an 8-year-old, devoid of the pain resistance that his adult form possessed. As darkness encroached upon his consciousness, Cale slipped into unconsciousness, his body unable to bear the weight of his exertions.

Cale was certain that he would soon regain consciousness, hopefully before Roksu awoke from his slumber. He needed to rectify the bloody mess he had made.

Chapter 9: Cale i-can-take-care-of-myself Henituse

Chapter Text

Cale was just being delusional thinking that he could erase the trace of blood and he had forgotten he sent away Ron to make tea for him and the old man will come back soon.

Roksu's senses jolted awake at the familiar scent of blood, a haunting echo from his past. Instantly alert, he sprang from his slumber, his eyes snapping open to survey his surroundings with caution. It took a moment for the realization to sink in that he wasn't on Earth anymore. With a relieved exhale, he recognized his hyung's room, yet the absence of his brother by his side and the ominous absence of noises pierced through his relief like a blade through silk.

It was too quiet.

His instincts screaming Cale was in danger, Roksu hastily descended from the bed, casting a wary gaze around the dimly lit chamber. His brother was nowhere to be found. With measured steps, he approached the source of the pungent metallic odor, his heart pounding in his chest like a distant war drum. Just as he neared the sofa, the door burst open with a violent crash against the wall.

Ron was standing there.

Ron, arriving outside Cale's room, caught a whiff of faint blood wafting from within. Without hesitation, he forced the door open with a powerful shove, the sound reverberating through the room. Stepping inside, he beheld Roksu standing nearby.

Their movements synchronized, Roksu's gaze shifted to Ron, registering his presence without sensing any immediate threat. Ron, however, had no time for contemplation. Hastily, he reached out to Cale, his clothes stained crimson with blood. It was evident that Cale had coughed up blood, yet there was no discernible wound from any weapon.

The sight was unsettling-blood continued to trickle from Cale's lips.

"Ron what is going on?" Roksu's voice trembled, his face was pale as paper.

"This Ron isn't sure, young master Roksu." Ron responded, he brought Cale to the bed and laid him down.

"Young master Roksu please go and bring the doctor!" Ron said to Roksu who nodded his head and ran towards the doctor's room.

Ron used the handkerchief to wipe away the blood from his puppy young master's chin and throat. He hadn't even finished wiping away the blood from the child's throat, blood began to rush out of Cale's lips in a single line.

The reason why Cale continued bleeding was because he had used a larger amount of power than his body could hold. Cale is sometimes dense about his body limit; having suddenly a larger amount of power alone would have broken his plate and body, not to mention that power didn't even stay inside his body long enough for his body to adapt to it as it flowed out of his body.

It would have been better if he had just gone to his domain to create the relic then he wouldn't have suffered like that.

Well it was no one but Cale's own fault.

(In the future, Ron will keep close eyes on Cale, even when Cale lets him take care of Roksu on his impossible slacker life adventure.

Cale will be more confused at Roksu who nodded alongside Ron. Cale was sure Ron and Roksu got along to the point where they always go to Roksu's adventures.)

The doctor checked Cale's body and found his whole body was in a mess. Poison spread through Cale's body like a tree root; although Cale was immune to poison, the poison was still in his body because of how he used up all his power and left nothing-no single drop of power inside his body.

"Call the priest, quickly!!!" The doctor frantically shooted as he took out healing potion from his bag and shovelled it into Cale's closed mouth.

Ron swiftly left the count estate to bring a priest.

Roksu held Cale's limp hand as he sat on other side of the bed, Roksu's eyes were filled with tears but he didn't let the tear flow down.

He had just slept and woke up to see his brother unconscious and bleeding. Roksu wanted to ask how his big brother's condition was, but he was too afraid to hear a negative response and lose his only sunshine in life since his mother passed away and his father abandoned them.

Roksu suddenly felt the hand he was holding gripped back. Roksu looked at the hand, squeezing his own hand. Just a moment ago, it was limp and loose, but now it was holding his hand tightly.

Roksu lifted his head to his brother's face but it was still pale, and eyes tightly closed.

"Shhh, Roksu, don't cry." Roksu felt something was blocking his throat. His big brother was still unconscious, but as if sensing Roksu was about to cry, he comforted him.

Roksu felt anger rising at Cale who was suffering trying to comfort him? Look Roksu knew his brother doted on him, and always been there for him in any situation but this......... Roksu was speechless.

'Why is the priest still not here?' Roksu squeezed back Cale's hand. Roksu didn't want a situation where, just because the priest was late, his brother was no longer in the world.

Even the doctor and servants who were gathered by Roksu's panicked running was astonished, their eyes shifted towards Roksu and saw the reddish brown eyes holding back tears looked pitiful, obviously their oldest young master was unconscious and suffering as if sensing his younger brother was sad had opened his mouth and uttered word of comfort.

The doctor and Hans were near the bed so only they saw how suddenly Cale squeezed Roksu's hand.

Doctor Eileen hurriedly checked Cale's body only to find it was in a state of slumber without any strength but looking at the still grasping hand of Cale let out a disbelieving sigh. "Ho!!"

"What is wrong?" Hans tensely asked as he heard the disbelieving sigh. Roksu sharply stared at the doctor waiting for the answer.

Being looked at by two vicious eyes the doctor stiffened for a second. "The young master's body is still unconscious without strength but the strange thing is only the hand holding young master Roksu's hand has strength. It is as if all the energy in the body is focusing on that hand."

Hearing Eileen's analysis everyone in the room was shocked, confused and amazed.

Before anyone could react Cale coughed out dark blood, then as if he woke up from a nightmare he jumped up and sat up while coughing harshly.

Roksu felt relief washed over as he stared at his big brother. Then as if his adrenaline kicked, all the emotion he was holding back broke as he jumped on Cale and hugged him in bear hug and started to cry again. He had almost lost family once again.

Ron, who had just dragged the priest, released the man and rushed to his puppy young master's side.

Ron had not felt those emotions since his wife and family were killed. But ever since the countess passed away and the count was absent his puppy young master let him feel the seven stages of emotions.

As Ron ran towards the city where the priest is doing his work as a priest, he realized his affection for his two young masters. It seems Ron cares for the two children more than he initially thought.

So seeing Cale awake, Ron felt relief washing over his body and a tingle of happiness.

Ron saw his son standing not far away from Hans, his posture was guarded and ready to attack or defend from any harm. Beacrox had been drawn out by Roksu on his way back to Cale's room with the doctor; their footsteps were loud enough to wake up everyone in the estate.

On the way Roksu told them what was going on, Beacrox felt his chest heavy as three of them accelerated toward their destination.

If Roksu felt like a younger brother then Cale was like a home to Beacrox.

Ever since Cale was small, he would drag his younger brother as he trailed behind Beacrox. Smiling stupidly at Beacrox whenever their eyes meet, he always tries to play with him or show him everything he finds interesting to him. Beacrox might not be good with emotions, but he was quick to notice his likeness towards two red-haired boys. Beacrox could also see that his father had already become attached to their young masters, but he just didn't realize it.

They lost their family but gained a new one in a corner of northern county.

Beacrox almost stopped breathing when he saw the bloody state of Cale. The night his family was massacred flashed through his eyes and the particular image of his mother's bloody state replaced Cale.

His mother coughing out blood as a sword pierced through her chest as she shielded him, her body was filled with cuts.

Beacrox comes out of his traumatic memory just because he didn't see a stabbing wound of sword, no sword pierced on the chest or no cuts all over Cale's body.

Beacrox saw a swarm of servants gathering at the door, he sent glares warning them to not come inside the room. Beacrox blocked the view of servants standing right beside Hans but two steps away.

Beacrox found it funny yet sad to hear Cale's unconscious mumbling and doctor Eileen's explanation. From a young age Cale -no ever since Roksu was born,Cale showered Roksu with unlimited affection. Spoiling him more than their parents and letting Roksu do whatever he wants to do.

Beacrox looked at his father arriving with a person on his shoulder like a flour sack. And the process to drop the person without care in the world.

Beacrox seeing his father and priest shoo-ed away the servants, he received quiet looks from them but he didn't care, his young master needed a check up so there was no need of servant, only doctor and priest.

"Young master Cale, how do you feel?" Doctor Eileen asked, he had been shocked to see Cale's sudden wake upping antic.

Cale wanted to say he felt like sh*t because of the severe pain through his whole body, it felt like a hundred horses run over his body. In addition, the head splitting headache was getting worse.

"My head hurts!" Cale responded to Eileen, he didn't want Roksu to worry more so he decided to say the most troublesome pain that is making him hard to focus.

Cale wanted to hit himself for forgetting he was young and couldn't handle having his power drained up until nothing left, he should really have just gone to his domain and created it, curse his laziness.

"Young master Cale, let me check your condition." The priest on the floor standing by doctor Eileen's side, who knows when?

"Young master Roksu, please let young master Cale lay back." Roksu, who had been crying while hugging Cale, awkwardly and reluctantly let Cale go, separating from the warm, gentle caressing hands.

The priest Hanze put his right hand on Cale's chest, then he closed his eyes and focused his divine power to that hand to inspect Cale's body.

As time passed the priest's face filled with frown and eyebrows squinted, lip drawing in thin line. It wasn't a good sign, everyone in the room observing the priest's face realized.

"Young master Cale, how are you still alive?" The priest Hanze out of nowhere asked. Cale didn't know whether the priest was just asking in confusion or just curious.

"What do you mean?" Roksu glared at the priest, he didn't like the priest's question. It was as if Cale wasn't supposed to be alive.

"Young master Roksu according to my analysis the young master Cale's plate has crack, not to mention the poison that is almost reaching his heart and the mana of young master had been completely drained up." The priest Hanze responds to Roksu with a voice full of horror but curiosity. "So I wonder how the young master is not in coma at least?"

Roksu, Hans, Beacrox and Ron's eyes shifted from Hanze to Cale with vicious glare daring him not to answer.

"Roksu was crying." Cale whispered. After losing his consciousness, he was completely blacked out, but somehow he could hear Roksu's cries as a certified doting older brother. Cale unsealed a little bit of his divine power to regain his consciousness, so little that other gods wouldn't sense it, but in doing so, Cale could only stay awake in pain.

Since his body will get better once he regains the power he lost.

Cale wasn't going to take the risk of exposing himself. Gods, after all, were too noisy to keep secrets. It will alert his prey; that is one thing Cale doesn't want to happen.

Cale needs to be cautious and concealed as much as he can until the time comes.

Cale was in deep thoughts as he stared at the ceiling that he didn't notice the bewildered eyes directing at him, if the room hadn't been silent as they waited for Cale's response then they wouldn't have catched Cale's quiet whispering.

Roksu stared at his big brother in disbelief, who the hell woke up just because the younger brother was crying? Look he was moved at Cale waking up for his sake but still that is just stupid.

Ron, Han and Beacrox shook their heads, they were speechless at the reason Cale gave them, knowing Cale that might be true.

The atmosphere inside Cale's room was heavy, but the room owner was quite oblivious to it. The priest rubbed between his eyes as he had a guess what might make the child's body like that poison overdose or, more likely, the poison Cale consumed mixed together, creating more deadly poison.

"Young master Cale, how much poison did you consume today?" The priest asked, knowing that the mother-son pair have the strange hobby of testing different kinds of poisons and come to him for purification. They said it was to become immune to poison.

Strange reason, he didn't understand why they wanted to be immune to poison, even going as far as hiding it from the count and even if he advised them to not do that they took his advice at all. Making him helpless and speechless as he watches the mother-son pair drink poison.

Cale's eyes moved away from the ceiling to the left side.

"Ho, young master, hadn't you been warned to not consume more than your limit? You are still young, even if you are immune to poison doesn't mean you can consume as much as you want!!!! Young master Cale, are you listening to me??" Hanse seeing the guilty face of Cale, he could help but scold the kid, he felt a headache coming.

"But-"

"Young master Cale, I will start healing you." Hanze didn't let Cale continue to talk lest the brat say something stupid.

Without waiting for Cale respond, Hanse did his job as the priest.

Cale was speechless at Hanzes outburst. He wanted to say something but the vicious faces of others made him shut his mouth.

Hanze didn't know if it was his imagination but he suddenly felt his divine power increasing?

Azrael who had just finished a mountain of paperwork because of two souls sudden disappearances and went to check on his child.

Only to discover his child had been harmed?

'HOW DARES TO TOUCH MY CHILD?' Azrael was outraged, gritting his teeth as he calmed himself down.

'First heal his child, then find the culprit and punish them.' Azrael muttered as he aided the priest Hazel. Good thing Hazel was a priest from the church of death. Otherwise, Azrael would just have healed his child's body by himself, but the problem is that his child will not like it.

Chapter 10: Tea with two fathers?

Chapter Text

So no Hanze wasn't imagining.

Cale soon fell asleep, everyone looked at the peaceful sleeping 8 years old child.

No one noticed Hanze's baffled face as he stared at his hands. Hanze was a low ranking priest so it was strange for him to be able to use so much power in one go and he couldn't stop himself from using his healing power even if he wanted to.

Also he strangely felt chilly.

"Let's talk outside." Hanze softly whispered, he covered Cale with a blanket and gestured to the door.

Roksu gave a glance at Cale before leaving with others, he wanted to hear about the poison thing.

Cale wasn't actually sleeping but was stolen away by Azrael for tea.

"My child, are you okay?" Azrael anxiously spins Cale as he checks Cale's spiritual body.

Cale let himself spin around by his father nr.2, while thinking of an excuse.

"I'm fine," Cale answered.

"What happened!? Why is your power drained?" Azrael questioned, finally releasing Cale from his paws.

"Uhh, I had eaten too much poison, because the poison I consumed wasn't one but 5 different types. It got mixed up and created a new type of poison." Cale, seeing the genuine worry in the god of death, felt warm even if his father wasn't home. Cale had Azrael beside him always. Azrael was different from Deruth, Azrael was annoying yet caring.

Cale could still remember how Azrael had stayed Cale's side and comforted him even though he didn't need it.

'Unlike my father who needed comfort from him, Azrael had comforted Cale like he was a child. I wonder in my first life I had felt a strange chill when my mother passed away?'Cale wondered, it was a mystery for him, how could he feel cold when he was inside and hugging his father in comfort, couldn't his father embrace be warm? So how did he feel strangely cold on top of his head?

At that time little Cale had thought his head was cold because of lack of hair and was going to freeze? Now thinking back Cale was sure that it was the god of death doing. Funny god Azrael, scaring a child by his action of comforting. Has

After repeatedly assuring Azrael, Cale was allowed to leave.

He had a worrywart father nr.2, who doesn't hesitate to show his worry or caring attitude towards Cale(unlike Deruth.

Cale didn't know what happened after he fell asleep. Cale felt light and relaxed, the pain was gone. Looking out of the big and wide window it should be in the afternoon at 6 pm.

Cale had planned to bring Roksu to his room then go back to work on the paperwork but midway he had to create a holy item? Then because of his stupidness he got himself into a nasty situation.

"Aigoo" Cale didn't want to leave the bed but there is so much to do.

Cale admired his 8 years old self who was filled with energy and patience to deal with all bullsh*t written by the nobles under the county.

Cale almost shut back the door, Ron was standing there with his usual benign smile but Cale could see the difference of the benign smile, it was slightly wider and not to mention his eyes were curved downward in crescent moon shape. Cale was in trouble, it was the benign smile Ron had whenever Cale did something stupid.

Cale held back his urge to slam shut the door in Ron's face but the A-graded lemon tea scent weakened his arm strength.

"Young master, where are you going?" Ron asked in a calm steady(?) voice.

"To my study." Cale shivered as he eyed the lemonade tea, his attention was entirely on the cup of tea that made his life miserable. That is why he missed the flash of viciousness, and how Ron's eyes sharpened.

Cale walked past Ron, he wanted to run but his noble status didn't allow it. So without any other no choice Cale walked at a fast pace with Ron following.

"Young master, please drink your tea." Ron's eerie voice sounded behind Cale. Cale stopped in his tracks turning around; he took the cup from Ron and drank it in one go.

Giving the cup back to Ron, Cale continued towards his study that wasn't actually far away from his bedroom. Cale's study was filled with paperworks, seeing the stacks of paperworks on his desk and surrounding the desk were paperwork that was reaching to desk height.

Ron observed his puppy young master's face, seeing the puppy's face change from an exaggeration to an indifference at the sight of a bunch of paperworks. Ron with narrowed eyes watches as his 8 years old pup-cub does adult work in efficiency and skillfully.

Ron wanted to sharpen his daggers, for the first time in his life he envied his son practicing, letting out the frustration after learning a new thing about the mother-son pair but this time it wasn't amusing at all.

To think the mother-son pair were drinking poison to strengthen their immunisation.

For what reason were two of them doing that? Others might think it was for a simple but not Ron, he remembers the unusual whispering of them in the garden or how they stand in front of a big tree with a melancholy on their faces.

Ron felt there was more to see in those kind mother-son pairs. And it was suspicious how his puppy young master had disappeared after the funeral, no one noticed it. Until Ron asked where Cale was then as if they suddenly remembered his puppy young master. Before chaos ceased the puppy master appeared as if he knew a big commotion was about to happen.

Ron comes out of his memory when he hears his puppy young master ordering him to take care of some rats inside the Henituse territory.

Cale frowned; he felt Ron was strangely vicious ever since he woke up from his nap. Cale wasn't in a mood to ask Ron why he was being vicious so he decided to send the old man out to release some frustration the old man was dealing with.

Cale checked how much power he had regained in the meantime he was sleeping. Thanks to Azrael healing him, his body was completely healthy.

'Having a healthy body equals gaining his power quickly.' Cale subconsciously nodded at his own thoughts.

'I should check how little Han is doing.' Cale used his divine power to conjure a mirror in front of himself. In the mirror Cale could see a young man with black hair smiling and talking to children.

It was Choi Han who had left the forest of darkness 8 years ago.

Cale had used his divine power to make a clone of himself, let it wear a priest's attire and guided Choi Han out of the forest of darkness in the name of a mysterious god. Cale wasn't going to use Azrael's name because it would be risky, if Cage were to ask Azrael who didn't know anything about it would cause a commotion.

Cale, seeing Choi Han happy, was satisfied and let the mirror vanish.

Then he buried his head into his pile of paperwork. Start working with determination of finishing at least half of the paperwork on his desk. Cale did not spare a single glance at documents surrounding his desk on the ground.

Cale repeated a cycle of schedule; wake up, eat, work, accompany Roksu, work, eat work, have tea with Roksu, work then sleep.

And so the news of a 8 year old managing a county spread through the whole Roan kingdom. It started with some frustrated workers in the Henituse family, they were distressed for their young masters and angry at Count Henituse leaving two children alone.

So they vented their frustration while drinking in a bar.

At first everyone was worried about Cale managing the county but soon they were relieved at how efficiently their young master worked.

The county was thriving under Cale Henituse, who was 8 years old. Everyone could see it; just look at the slum. It had been dirty, smelly, and filled with homeless adults and orphanage children, but now it was clean and neat. The homeless adults had been hired as constructors to strengthen the Henituse wall; they were provided with free food, drink, and a break time, and they also received a salary-one silver for a month. Children were sent to an orphanage opened under the Henituse name.

To ensure children are being treated well, Cale sent Ron monthly to check on the childrens state.

Cale praised himself for his decision to send Ron; after all, nothing can escape from the eyes of an experienced assassin. Beacrox, upon finding out, had a hard time stopping his lips from curving into a smirk. Ron's eyebrows twitched slightly at the blunt away of Cale avoiding the lemonade tea because the time Ron was doing a routine check on the children was 12 pm, a tea time from two red-haired kiddos.

Roksu strongly agreed with his hyung decision of having Ron to confirm children's safety. It wasn't because of lemonade tea made by Ron, definitely not.

Anyways Cale Henituse was known as a genius child, but a doting brother who would do anything for his younger brother. While Roksu was known as a lazy genius, has brocon(nah y'all just misunderstanding he was just overprotective because his hyung was more self sacrificial than him.) that will do anything for his older brother too.

Henituse brothers known for their always being there for each other whatever happens.

Then another shocking news was spread out that the eldest son of the Henituse family was deadly poisoned and that he had coughed out a lot of blood. But this news did not get out of the Henituse wall because the citizens were overprotective over their young masters who improved their lives.

Cale's hair had grown long and it reached his shoulders. So did Roksu's hair.

One year had passed.

Cale was waiting for his father to arrive with their new family, which he had missed. Cale looked up from his work in Roksu's direction with some worry; he didn't know how Roksu would react.

Cale was certain Roksu would not hate Violan and Basen but his dislike towards their father might increase.

Cale tried to improve their father's image in his dongsaeng's mind, but he would receive a stoic face with strange emotions in Roksu's eyes, which he didn't recognize. Cale just didn't understand that the more he tries, the more Roksu detests Deruth for Cale's sake.

Cale is also oblivious to Ron's slight twitching eyebrows and flash of viciousness in the assassin's eyes.

Cale sweated for his father seeing Roksu being stubborn.

Cale sighed nth times while Ron raised his eyebrow at his puppy young master who had been sighing since he woke up.

For some reason Ron had a bad feeling, something was going to change. That is when the door knocking sound echoed through the room that was quiet with book flipping and a noise of pen scribing on the paper.

"Come in." Cale calmly stated as he focused on his paperwork. The door opened with a click, Hans with a worried face walked in, he closed the door before making his way to Cale's desk.

"......"

"What is it?" Cale raised his head with a confused face. It was strange for Hans to not be noisy and hesitate to report.

Ron frowns as his guts were telling him something was going to happen. Roksu put down his book, if Hans is being too cautious and hesitating, means it was something serious.

Hans took deep breaths in and out before, a calm steady voice. "Young master, count is back."

"Hans? Why did you not finish your sentence?" Roksu questioned as he walked over Cale's side.

"Count wants to meet young masters right now." Hans reluctantly gritted out.

At that three humans raised their eyebrows.

'Ho, who would have thought this happy-go-lucky young butler is able to be vicious?' Roksu thought, slightly amused.

'Hans? I didn't expect it from you! I guess they are here, huh?' Cale was very much surprised.

'Hohoho, not bad has potential.' Ron's benign smile appeared.

"Hans tell me truthfully, what has father done?" Roksu smiled brightly, but his voice was cold. Cale lit up a candle for his father, who is going to have a hard time getting forgiveness from Roksu.

As if sensing what Hans was going to say, Roksu scoffed elegantly. "Don't you-will-see-it-once-you-meet-count me!"

Cale grabbed the cup of lemonade; he had been ignoring its existence for hours. He took a sip before grimacing. Ron side-eyed his puppy young master with his typical benign smile, but you can see amusem*nt in those eyes.

"The count brought a woman and a child." Hans tried, he really tried to calmly respond, but the harsh tone exposed his outrage, which he tried to hide.

Roksu and Ron froze upon hearing Hans' answer, Cale just calmly sipped the lemonade tea while grimacing.

The study was silent............"The f*ck did you say?" Roksu threw the noble manners out of the window.

Hans stole a glance towards Cale's direction, Hans was astonished to see Cale calmly sipping tea with a blank face. Roksu not hearing Hans responding glared at Hans but saw the butler was looking somewhere else, following Hans' line of sigh Roksu saw Cale sipping on tea with blank face.

Ron, who had come out of his shock and bewilderment thanks to Roksu's undignified scream, was already looking at Cale.

Ron didn't know what his puppy young master was thinking behind his blank face as he drank the lemonade he hated so much.

At that moment Cale looked so much like countess Jour, as she drank lemonade with a calm face. A habit of Jour Henituse, when she is in deep thought.

Two butlers and a kid had only one thought. 'He is in deep thought.'

Cale was in fact thinking whether he should bring Roksu with him or not.

"Roksu? Do you want to meet father or our two unknown guests?" Cale put down the empty cup, he stared at Roksu in enquiry.

Roksu didn't understand how Cale was so calm when their father brought an unknown woman and a child with him after abandoning them for a year? Roksu wondered if Cale in the novel was also calm when his father brought a stranger after his mother's death and left him alone for a year.

"I will go" Roksu wasn't going to let his hyung go alone without any support and he didn't have anything against the mother-son duo as his only problem was Deruth.

Cale nodded, he got up from his seat and stretched his right hand towards Roksu. "Alright, we have been letting father and the guests wait for a long time."

In his first life Cale did not waste a second to rush out to meet his father, in this life he took his time because he had Roksu, Ron and Hans beside himself.

Cale and Roksu held hands as they made their way to meet their father with Hans guiding them, Ron following them.

They were heading to the tea room, and Hans knew it would take some time for his two young masters to meet the count. Hans arranged for the count, soon-to-be countess, and young master to wait inside the tea room.

Hans held the door handle but did not open the door; instead he waited for an order from Cale. Cale smiled at Roksu who was slightly tense. "Roksu take a deep breath, tell Hans to open the door when you are ready."

Roksu gave a glance at Cale before leaving with others, he wanted to hear about the poison thing.

Chapter 11: Wedding--?

Chapter Text

Roksu nodded his head. He was quite tense, as he knew behind the door were the soon-to-be countess and brother. Truthfully, he wasn't bothered by those two, but Deruth and Roksu were afraid he might lash out. Ever since he got reincarnated as the nonexistent younger brother of Cale Henituse, his emotional state has become healthier than when he was just born.

Receiving a lot of affection and encouragement from his family.

"Fuuuu, Hans open the door." Roksu clenched Cale's hand tightly.

Inside the room were two adults and a child sitting on the long sofa. In order of Deruth, Violan and Basen, the talk and laughter died as they entered.

"Father," Cale called out once he and Roksu sat opposite the sofa. Roksu silently nodded his head with an indifferent face. Deruth stared at his two sons before lowering his head, avoiding looking at his two sons with long hair. They just look like his late wife, Jour.

Cale did not bat an eye at his father's action too used to it, Roksu having been disliking the man for a year raised an eyebrow.

The room was silent for a minute.

"Father? Why have you summoned us?" Cale politely asked, definitely not noticed Deruth's small flinch at the word of summoned. Roksu shifted his eyes to his hyung hearing the polite voice.

Deruth took a deep breath if it was before he wouldn't have hesitated to introduce Violan and Basen but after waiting for his two sons, Deruth realized he had done stupid thing by how Violan had been scolding him.

"Cale, Roksu meet Violan and Basen." Deruth introduced the red head boys.

To his surprise, Cale smiled at Violan and Basen, while Roksu was still indifferent but nodded towards the mother-son. "Nice to meet you, my name is Cale Henituse and this is my little brother Roksu Henituse."

Violan nodded her head at the smiling Cale and Roksu who just looked at them with no emotion.

"Roksu, why don't you bring Basen to play?" Cale smiled towards Roksu, who seemed to be looking at him with narrowed eyes. Cale turned away from Roksu's eyes, which seemed to say you-have-a-lot-to-explain. Cale pretended to not see it as he turned his head towards little Basen, who looked so cute. He gently smiled towards the 5-year-old child.

Roksu seeing Cale ignored him, snorted before getting up and walked to Basen's side holding out his hand for Basen to take it.

Basen looked at the hand in front of him, then at Cale, who was still smiling at him warmly, before finally turning to look at his mother, who in return nodded her head. Basen took Roksu's hand before the boys were guided away by Hans who had received Roksu's eyes of lead-the-way, as for Ron he was ordered by Roksu's silent stare to stay. '

"Ron, tea." Cale said as he could smell a sweet scent from the tea pot. He wasn't going to miss a chance to drink sweet tea.

Ron silently took out a lemonade tea, who knows where it came from, and gave it to Cale who had bewildered eyes as he stared at the cup of lemonade in Ron's hand. "Ron, you! when did you-! forget it."

"Hoho, young master, this old man knew this tea is your favorite tea, so how could I not prepare it?" Cale gives Ron a doubtful eye, hearing Ron's calm voice with a typical benign smile.

After a minute of staring contest between master-butler pair.

"So, father, when are you thinking of having a wedding?" Out of nowhere, Cale casually asked, shocking two adults sitting opposite him. Ron's smile slightly widened as he stared at his puppy young master. Cale felt a shiver go down his spine, indicating Ron was staring at him without batting an eyelid.

Cale seeing his father's eyes widened with shock, gaped mouth enough to fit an egg and Violan was surprised but with grace more than his father who threw grace and elegance out of the window.

Cale almost grimaced but he had manners so he did it inside his head, Ron let out an amused quiet snort at how his puppy young master slightly tensed up, Ron was certain that his puppy young master was grimacing right now.

Call it seventh Ron-mocking-him sense or whatever, Cale glared accusingly at Ron who in return just smiled widely.

Making Cale roll his eyes, before turning to look at his father with are-you-mute?-talk!. Deruth who avoided looking at his son who looked so similar to his late wife Jour missed it. Even when he was shocked he didn't dare to look at his son's face, instead he was looking at Cale's chin.

"Madam Violan, it seems my words made father speechless so could you be kind and answer for father stead?" Cale looked away from Deruth to Violan before sipping his lemon tea. This time Cale did not grimace or show emotion as he sip the tea.

*******

Only Cale and Violan talked while Deruth under his soon-to-be wife's harsh glare.

It was decided that the wedding will take place in a week. Cale did not oppose it, just nodded and told Violan to not be tense or hold back before leaving.

Cale thoughtfully walked through the hallway, Ron trailing behind him.

"Young master, what are you thinking so hard?" Ron couldn't help but ask.

"Ah, I was thinking if i should give a welcoming gift to madam Violan on the wedding day." To warn others the mother-son pair was under Cale's protection went unsaid not that it mattered as Ron practically heard it.

Ron did not understand the 8 years old puppy's way of thinking.

From what he observed, his puppy young master wasn't even sad or angry at his father bringing another woman when a year had passed since the late countess passed away. Unlike the kitten young master who seems to dislike the count outright.

They walked in silence.

From far away Cale could hear a loud laughter of Basen, Cale couldn't help but smile, as expect of his dongsaeng. Roksu was really good with children.

Cale walked a little fast, and arrived outside of Roksu's room.

When Cale walked in, he became the center of attention from a butler and two kids. Cale did not change his expression as he walked into the room with a gentle smile.

Roksu's eyes fall on Cale before shifting towards Ron, Roksu learned not to trust his hyung about anything related to count, call him biased or being unfair towards the so-called father of theirs, a dislike that is very close to becoming hatred.

With doubtful Roksu, nervous Basen and relaxed Cale the three of them had a very good time.

Basen at first was nervous and shy being with Roksu and Cale before realizing two of them were really nice to him. Well Roksu wasn't complaining about having a younger brother and another mother in his life since he knew from the novel that they will eventually come but didn't think Deruth will bring them this soon.

Roksu didn't want to doubt a grieving man but this situation is just too strange. Everyone was shocked and bewildered while his older brother just calmly accepted it, that just doesn't make any sense.

He will talk to his hyung once Basen takes a nap.

In Roksu's opinion, Basen was a cute and shy child, so he didn't mind playing with a 5 years old child or spending time with the boy.

So Roksu, with the body of a child and mind of an adult, for the first time played with the toys he had thrown aside in favor of taking a nap or reading. Basen and Roksu spent their time playing and eating sweets(Roksu was taking advantage of Ron's absence to eat a lot of sweets).

In the middle of their play, Cale joined them.

So two with a child body, the mind of an adult and a real child played together, they were having fun while their father was getting scolded by his soon-to-be wife for everything the man had done.

Violan would not tolerate stupid excuse her soon-to-be husband gave her for abandoning two lovely children. She had seen with her own eyes that the older one was too calm, mature for his age and the youngest had clearly disliked Deruth with how indifferent his face was while looking at Deruth.

That was a normal reaction to this circ*mstance but there was no such thing as dislike directing at her and Basen. Just welcoming that was what it was, nothing more, no hatred or outburst she was prepared to receive. Violan's hands were itching to hit when she saw Deruth avoiding looking at two children sitting across them, she stiffly turned to children with worried eyes but one was unbothered and another was scoffing.

Then Cale had sent away two youngest in the room, that was a good thing since the talk was going to be boring. Violan didn't know how many times she was touched by two children's thoughtfulness.

Violan wasn't blind she could see Roksu wasn't willing to leave his brother's side but he still did it in favor of avoiding an awkward situation for Basen.

Violan decided to ignore Deruth for the rest of the conversation she was having with Cale. Violan didn't show on her face but she felt Cale knew, he knew she was pregnant. She wouldn't have noticed it if she hadn't catched Cale eyeing his father's knowing eyes then to her stomach.

Deruth obviously didn't notice it as he was busy with nodding his head while avoiding looking at Cale. Violan didn't know what she felt at that moment but her heart ached for the boy's understanding eyes.

There were a lot of things that Deruth needed to tell her.

Violan also has a lot to say to her soon-to-be husband.

They were going to have a long talk about Deruth's behavior towards his sons.

"The wedding is next week." Cale and Roksu were sitting in the garden as they drank tea.

"I see," Roksu responded before eating the cookie in front of his mouth. Roksu wasn't surprised at all, having read the novel he knew it was bound to happen.

Ron watched two redhead boys peacefully drinking the tea and eating cookies. He was surprised when his puppy young master indifferently announced the news to the kitten young master, who just stiffened up with a blank face before as if nothing happened he responded.

"Paternal family?" Roksu munched on his cookies as he asked, from what he read the nobles wouldn't quietly accept a merchant daughter and evenless of a child who isn't blood related.

"Don't worry about it, I will take care of it." Cale responded confidently, in his past life he had chosen the path of acting while his life actually worked like a charm for a 10 year old child's planning.

This time Cale will take a little bit of a drastic measure than his original plan. After all, a golden turtle doesn't need a turtle with a bad shell.

"Do you need help?" Roksu inquired with a blank face, Cale raised an eyebrow at his little brother. "I thought you might take the chance to slack off?"

'How come I didn't think about that?' Roksu suddenly felt regretful for asking if his brother needed help when his brother was clearly capable of fixing the problem. Roksu flashed a very bright smile towards his brother who in return snorted in amusem*nt.

"You don't have to worry about it, just slack off with Basen." Cale really couldn't keep amusem*nt away from his voice as he told Roksu who seems to brighten more.

"Brother you are best." Roksu exclaimed, swinging both of his feet as he munched on the cookies.

*********

Cale was quick while his father was busy with preparing for the wedding, he took care(threatened) of his paternal family's complaints and opposition towards the wedding with some documents(blackmail).

Reminding them, Cale is aware of everything they did or planning. Cale gave them a lot of paperwork to clean up their ass.

Wedding was successful without anyone causing trouble or opposition. Basen was also accepted with the (forced)smiles of nobles and side families. No one but Roksu noticed his brother was smiling widely evilly at the adults sitting in the wedding seats.

'I wonder how much paperwork they are dealing with?' Roksu wondered as he stood there in boredom. He had seen his brother playing with a feather pen, his face full of evil smile, eyes curved downward, and adding that dreadful lemonade tea scent filling the study made Roksu shiver.

ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄▽ ̄)┘

The Henituse family is known for their harmonious relationship that made other noble houses and royal families feel ashamed, outraged, disdainful and envious.

Ashamed because they didn't know they could have such harmonious relationships with each other rather than an awkwardly cold one, some of the half-siblings tried to get close to each other which worked like a dream but there were always others who were arrogant enough to not care about it. Outraged because of Cale and Roksu's acceptance of Basen Henituse and the protectiveness of them towards Basen.

Basen who doesn't have any blood relation and is a commoner being accepted into noble society was insulted and disgraceful for their pride.

Look, the crown prince and marquis heir weren't jealous at the three brothers' close relationship at all. Okay they might just be a little bit envious at the support, protection and care the three brothers had for each other. Who doesn't know that when Basen Henituse the youngest got bullied by a noble child, the first thing two red haired boys had hit that boy and they didn't even apologize instead had almost made that boy's family out of business.

They had almost ruined that noble family by digging out black materials for the whole world to see. That incident made others mentally note to not mess with Henituse siblings.

Cale Henituse 10 year-old, Roksu Henituse 9 year-old and Basen Henituse 7 years old.

The three of them were preparing for the birthday banquet of Eric Wheelsman.

Cale was resplendent in a white shirt featuring puffy sleeves, its pristine fabric serving as the perfect canvas for his ensemble. Over this, he donned a short, wide-sleeved black coat, distinguished by intricate golden thread embroidery tracing along the edges, adding an opulent touch to his attire. His lower half was adorned with black trousers, tailored to perfection and snugly fitting his frame, while a black belt adorned his waist on the right side. Hanging from the belt was a striking golden chain fashioned into a graceful U shape, catching the light with every movement. Rather than a conventional tie, Cale opted for a bold statement piece: a bright reddish gemstone, its hue perfectly complementing his fiery hair, adding a dash of flair to his already striking appearance.

Cale styled his hair in a distinctive half ponytail, the rest of his locks flowing freely, while short bangs framed his forehead, adding a touch of youthful charm to his appearance.

Roksu was impeccably dressed in a crisp white t-shirt adorned with delicate blue embroidery, each stitch meticulously placed. Over the shirt, he sported a sophisticated blue vest with a sleek V-shaped cut, lavishly adorned with golden thread that shimmered in the light. His trousers matched the vest perfectly, a deep shade of blue, expertly tailored to fit him flawlessly. A smart leather belt cinched his waist, adding a touch of refinement to the ensemble. Instead of a conventional tie, he opted for a stylish blue ribbon, tied elegantly around his collar, his long reddish hair tied up in a ponytail.

Basen presented himself in a casual yet charming ensemble, starting with a crisp white t-shirt accented by a light blue ribbon elegantly tied in a loose bow around his neck, adding a subtle pop of color to his attire. Below, he wore light blue shorts featuring two delicate straps, lending a playful and relaxed vibe to his look. Topping it all off was a fancy white beret hat, adding a touch of sophistication and completing his ensemble with a stylish flair.

Overall, Cale exuded an ethereal beauty reminiscent of his mother Jour, with delicate features and a captivating presence that seemed to radiate grace and elegance. Roksu, on the other hand, possessed a striking handsomeness characterised by his distinctive Korean facial features, which added a unique allure to his appearance. Basen, with his charming ensemble and endearing demeanor, was undeniably adorable, his childish innocence and playful charm capturing the hearts of those around him effortlessly.

To be honest, Deruth and Jour couldn't help but feel a tinge of concern as Cale grew older; with each passing year, his beauty seemed to only magnify, leaving them both somewhat apprehensive about the attention he might attract.

Lily wasn't going with them, instead she will be staying at the Henituse mansion with Ron, she was too young to be out for a social event.

He had seen his brother playing with a feather pen, his face full of evil smile, eyes curved downward, and adding that dreadful lemonade tea scent filling the study made Roksu shiver.

ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄▽ ̄)┘

Chapter 12: Cale's beauty

Chapter Text

After a long energetic carriage ride they arrived at Wheelsman manor.

Nobles who were invited to the banquet and were going into the manor when they saw a golden turtle symbolized carriage. They stopped and watched curiously as Count Deruth came out first before turning around and reached out his hand gracefully for Violan.

As the adults emerged from the carriage, all eyes were drawn to a striking figure with vibrant red hair, exuding an air of elegance as he gracefully stepped out. Rather than immediately joining his parents, he extended his hand towards the carriage, where another boy with equally fiery red hair awaited assistance. With care and attention, an older boy helped the second boy down from the carriage.

Then the second boy made his way to their parents' side, seamlessly integrating into the familial gathering. Meanwhile, the older boy once more extended his hand towards the carriage, this time assisting a third child with brown hair, reminiscent of the two adults, the child was very adorable.

The Henituse family had arrived.

All four of them walked towards the manor with grace and elegantly.

They greeted the host of the banquet and the parents talked to each other while children went to play.

"Cale, Roksu and Basen! Thank you for coming!" Eric happily hugged them as they quickly went to where children were gathered. An escape from getting dragged into the adults' talks or just boasting.

"Eric-hyung is always welcomed." Cale equally happily answered back with a bright smile. The two youngsters hurriedly put their hands in front of their eyes to block the brightness of their two hyungs' smiles.

Amiru and Gilbert couldn't help but exchange amused looks, their snickers betraying their shared amusem*nt.

They had initially thought that only Eric possessed a smile as radiant as the sun, but witnessing Cale's equally bright smile, they couldn't help but draw parallels between the two. In their eyes, Eric and Cale seemed like the big sun and the little sun, both exuding warmth and joy that brought light to those around them.

As if the youngest duo sensed their presence, two children simultaneously looked back before sprinting towards Gilbert and Amiru.

Within three big steps, two burgundy duos arrived in front of their hyung and noona before processing to hide behind them. They very skillfully held the corner of two older children's clothes.

Amiru and Gilbert, who were already used to it, did not even squint their eyes when they saw their two big and small suns flash their bright smiles towards them.

"Gilbert, Amiru!"

"Noona, Hyung!"

Ayah! Their big and small suns were calling them with their cheerful and warm voices while blessing them with sunshine.

Even their royal family would be dull next to their sunny duo-

hmm, might not.

How come?

cause wasn't the crown prince also sunny like our sunny duo?

That is true.

So does that mean it's not a sunny duo but a sunny trio?

Not quite right, there are only two of them here so it should be a duo and when the three of them are together it should be trio ba?!

Ohhhh, I see.

Gilbert and Amiru somehow two of them are capable of communicating with each other telepathically when it comes to their sunny duo.

"Eric, Cale, how are you two?" They both asked at the same time.

"I'm fine, how about you two?" Eric responded.

"Me too," Cale chimed after Eric.

"We are fine too!" Gilbert replayed.

"Congratulations Eric!" Amiru smilingly said. Gilbert gives a rare smile to Eric.

"Thank you! Come let's go and eat sweets before our mothers find out." Eric ushered others to the table full of sweets and drinks. Six of them decided to sit on a circle table full of sweets and talked.

"On your way towards adulthood how does it feel?" -Gilbert

"Nothing new, same as usual but tired from preparing here and there for the banquet." -Eric

"But hyung had not grown at all? Do you not grow once you become older?" -Basen

"Basen! How could you!!! I am still growing!" Eric indignantly replayed to Basen who was eating cake with a curious face and mischievous eyes. Everyone could see that Basen was teasing Eric, making them amused.

"Roksu! This is your fault!" Eric, seeing Basen sending him a puppy, eyes turned to Roksu who was munching on strawberry cake, paused the cake he had just scoped and was about to put into his mouth.

He hadn't done anything but had actually received a pot?

He was just enjoying the show? But, the two players actually dare to throw pots? Roksu wasn't going to sit back silently and take the black pot!

So with determination filled him, Roksu sent the lvl 2 puppy eyes towards Eric. Eric, who received puppy eyes from both sides, sat down speechlessly.

Cale averted his eyes when he saw Eric sending him a help-me face, after all it was Cale who had taught his little brothers that skill.

Amiru and Gilbert snorted in amusem*nt, they knew it was Cale's doing, if they remember correctly according to Cale 'It will help them in the future'.

Everything was calm and peaceful before the storm.

Venion Stan, with a hand on his reddened cheek and tears streaming down, sat on the ground as he wailed like a banshee. Roksu standing in front of Venion Stan with disdain and disgust at the boy on the ground.

Cale with a stunned face, very much confused, what the hell had happened.

Basen, Eric, Gilbert and Amuri were shocked, bewildered and protectively dragged Cale to their side. The hall filled with music had stopped as everyone's attention was on the circle of children.

You might wonder how this happened?

Roksu was just about sitting on his seat and minding his own business while eating sweets. Basen was sitting beside him as they are not the eldest of the family so they did not need to greet other children from noble families.

They were watching their hyungs and noona to socialize.

They were very happy to be the youngest of the family, no need to be polite or socialize to children they don't want.

Then who knows where Venion Stan appeare from but Roksu's sixth sense tingling something is going to happen. Roksu with frown watch Venion walk towards Cale with strange smile. Roksu did not like that smile at all, it was the smile of a smitten fool.

Roksu hurriedly stood up from his seat and walked towards the older children's side.

Roksu sped up when he saw Venion actually kissed Cale's hand, which usually a gentleman does to a woman to show respect. Roksu's eyes sharpened when he saw Venion tried to get close to his hyung.

Just as Roksu arrived behind Cale he heard the most disturbing and ridiculous sentence coming out of the bastard he hated. "Can I kiss you?"

At that moment Roksu did not care about the noble manners, screw that sh*t his big brother is about to be deflowered by a scum.

So without hesitation Roksu sent his fist Venion.

"Kiss my fist, you bastard!!!" Roksu's outraged voice echoed through the ballroom. Roksu knew his big brother was ethereally beautiful like their late mother. He hadn't noticed it that much because they were living under the same roof and saw each other very often.

So he hadn't noticed the looks his big brother had received was not only from females but also males too.

After hitting Venion for almost molesting his big brother, Roksu huffed before dragging his big brother to their parents and Roksu told what happened to Cale then progressed to dragging Cale to exist.

Roksu sends apologetic eyes towards Eric, Gilbert and Amiru as they pass through them.

On the way Basen with a dark face also joined them.

So three Henituse brothers left the banquet, with Cale confused, Roksu and Basen with dark faces.

Cale didn't know whether to laugh or cry at Roksu's action, Cale knew he was beautiful call him narcissistic because he didn't give a cake about it since he inherited his beauty from his mother and he will not let himself call ugly that will insult his mother.

In his past life he did not step out from Rain city and his reputation of trash covered up his beauty.

But in this life Cale wasn't trash and his elegance, grace and cheerfulness added a charm to his appearance making him more beautiful. So it was no wonder that Venion, who is a brainless fool, thought he had a chance.

After that commotion, the Henituse family received engagement letters from a lot of family, making Ron whose benign smile more wide and vicious as he gave lemon tea to Cale. Roksu seems to be working really hard on his swordsmanship? Cale didn't understand how his lazy younger brother suddenly became passionate to workout?

Then there is Basen, he does not know if it's his imagination or not but Basen's sweet smile becoming more and more like Ron's vicious benign smile whenever he catches sight of letters or gifts, flowers?

Cale must have been imagining things, no way would his cute youngest smile like Ron.

Cale nodded his head agreeing with himself.

Ron watched his puppy young master being delusional and denying the reality that young master Basen had in fact smile benignly.

It was really amusing to watch his puppy young master. 'Hohoho'

Cale suddenly felt a shiver going through his whole body. Cale looked up from the paperwork he was working on, Cale had debated with his father whether Cale was allowed to help his father. With support from his father's assistants and other employers he had won against his father.

Cale observing the room he didn't find anything dangerous but an old man with a sinister benign smile staring at him with amusem*nt?

Cale really wanted to rub his eyes and check if his eyes were playing with him. But his scary(courtesy of Roksu) butler was staring at him without looking away so Cale decided to forget about it and ignore Ron.

'Hm, the hunters are staying quite low, I can't find any trace of their existence at all. Should I ask the emperor?' Cale pondered as he signed on the document that was about renewing the road of the Rain city.

'How strange, I didn't expect them to stay so low that they wouldn't even use their power at all. It would be hard to track them down if they hid themselves away. Seems I have no choice but to wait until the right time comes. Too bad I couldn't just wipe them out right now because they are really good at hiding like a rat.' Cale frowned at his own thought, he was reluctant to wait for 10 years to deal with hunters.

Cale once he finished dealing with his paperwork dismissed Ron who wouldn't just leave his side at all.

Then he went towards the wall full of books, then a shadow underneath him moved along the wall towards the only white book on the top of the bookshelf. The shadow nudged the book slightly inwards, and the bookshelf actually smoothly opened backwards. It didn't make any sound at all, very silently a secret passage appeared with a dim light of candle. The passage wasn't long, at most 10 steps and there was a simple door.

Cale walked into the passage, behind him the bookshelf closed itself. Cale did not look back as he calmly walked over to the simple door.

Once he was in front of the door out of nowhere a blue transparent screen with a keyboard appeared. On the blue screen was a single word 'PASSWORD:_._._._._._._.__ ' nothing more.

Cale's finger flew across the keyboard as he typed in the secret password.

Cale typed in three words without any space.

Cale had chosen those nine alphabets because he was certain no one in this world will be able to guess unless you aren't from here.

Like certain two - ah no its now four people.

The secret room had been created by his mom before she went on a long journey. They made it using the magic of the Thames family, so only two of them knew it existed.

Inside the secret room was a lot of information on hunters, Thames family and gods even about other dimensions. What he meant by making it using Thames magic is that the secret room was actually just an orb holding papers of information into a room.

If someone without the creator's permission tries to forcefully take anything from this room will be forcefully cast out of the room and the room will transform into an orb. The orb will lockdown itself before transporting to Cale' side.

After all, Cale had used his divine power in the process of creating it. So a mere hunter or strong individual won't be able to read or take away something from this room as he had placed a seal on it.

If someone without permission touches anything in the room Cale will be notified because the whole room is covered in a silent alarming magic. With that setting, Cale will be able to know someone had invaded his room and he won't have to worry about losing important stuff from the secret room at all.

Inside the room was simple, a small bookshelf filled with books that contain all kinds of important information. Then in the middle of the room was a desk and a leather comfy seat.

Simple as the room can be, the room was filled with floating bubbles filled with a lot of stuff.

The reason why Cale came to the secret room was because it was almost time for Lee Soo Hyuk to contact him, and he had left the communication orb here because Cale couldn't always carry it with himself, not to mention someone might notice it after all the light of the orb is very bright.

Cale didn't want to deal with the aftermath of getting caught red-handed.

Cale sat down on the leather seat, then used the shadow of the room made by light to grab a floating bubble not far away from the door and put it down on the desk gently.

On the desk was a bubble covered in silver smoke inside that made it hard to see what was inside the bubble.

Under Cale's touch the bubble melted away.

Inside was a communication orb.

Just in time the orb lit up.

"Khan, it's nice to see you again!" Cale greeted Sui Khan with a smile. Sui Khan was so blinded by Cale's cuteness that he almost forgot to respond but thank god Jayu was there with him to bring him out.

"Same here Cale, it has been quite long!" Sui Khan smiled back charmingly. "The village is ready for the future residence."

At that, Cale smiled happily; he was glad that the village had finished before everything began. Sui Khan was also excited to meet his dongsaeng, Cale had told them once they finished this assignment they could meet their dongsaeng.

"Since the village is finished I think you can meet your dongsaeng." Cale smiled gently at the mention of his brother. Sui Khan didn't notice it as he was so happy to meet his dongsaeng after 2 long years.

"I will send you the coordination where Kim Rok Soo is." Cale gently said. They then talked for a bit before the communication was cut as Cale needed to go back.

Cale wasn't surprised at his brother's excited mood over the next few days even if it was suspicion but he knew that Choi Jung Soo and Lee Soo Hyuk had met Roksu.

The night was beautiful with a full moon showing.

Man with blond hair stood at a big window staring out to the full moon in the sky.

"Are you not coming out?" Blond man calmly asked, he didn't look back instead continuing staring out.

"Greetings to your majesty Zed Crossman." Cale emerged from the darkness startling the shadow guards in the study.

"What do I owe to the young heir of the Henituse family to come?" Zed Crossman turned away from the moon to Cale who was half respectfully bowing.

Zed paused when he saw Cale's appearance, he really resembled Jour and the eyes with the golden tree.

That made Zed feel nostalgic, once upon time when they were all young no responsible.

Young Jour had secretly come to his office for information in the night time. That time Jour was also half respectful while bowing to him.

"Where is my uncle?" Cale bluntly asked which made Zed amused.

So similar to his mother.

"On hunt." Zed didn't try to play dumb, he knew Cale knew that he knows what Cale is talking about.

"When is he coming back? Or is he?" Cale invited himself to the sofa in the corner of the room. Zed wasn't offended at Cale instead felt that it was more like Thames way.

The people from Thames always like to sit in corners to observe everything in silence.

"In 10 years, he will come back in 10 years." Zed didn't hide it as he told Cale the truth.

Cale gave a slight nod.

"Thames family legacy, you have it don't you?" Cale was very disrespectfully asked by Zed who just raised an eyebrow.

Chapter 13: Meet Zed and loot Stan!

Chapter Text

"Is the Red Blood family coming back?" Zed asked instead of answering with sharp eyes.

"Not really, it's the Thames family." Cale relaxedly answered, completely not affected by Zed's aura.

Zed relaxed at Cale's words, it wasn't Red Blood but Thames that means they were on the same pages.

"Fuu, alright follow me." Zed stood up, there was no point in talking as it was obvious that Cale was going to be the last kind of Thames.

Every generation, a portion of the Thames bloodline is assigned to one of three types of responsibilities, which they refer to as the "three kinds of people."

Someone who research time.

Someone who guards the family.

Someone who hunts the hunters.

So knowing that Cale will be third made Zed feel relieved and glad.

They arrived at the library of the palace. Then to a secret room where there were a lot of books, weapons and so on.

"Give me one day." Cale looked at the books and told Zed. Zed didn't say anything, instead leaving much to Cale's delight.

Cale might not have a record like Roksu but he had his fast reading and divinity to copy it.

Cale sighed deeply; it was worth staying up all night to absorb this newfound knowledge. Who would have imagined that Hunters had been lurking in the shadows for so long, their purpose intertwined with the fate of single-lifers? The lore spoke of a path to ascension, where hunting these individuals could lead one to join the ranks of the Divine or the Demonic, or perhaps transcend even those bounds. The ultimate goal: the creation of an absolute god.

Once, certain lineages were revered as the 'Bridle of Karma,' five families among them, each led by a patriarch orchestrating their hunts. These patriarchs safeguarded the King's Successor, awaiting the fruition of a grand vision upon their maturation. Originally, there were seven Hunter families, but the betrayal of the White Bloods led to their exile, leaving only the five. Despite belief in the demise of the Red Blood family decades prior, evidence suggested otherwise.

Hunters wielded formidable abilities, traversing between worlds and manipulating memories-an arduous task even for divinity. Yet, they bore this burden, tracking dimension travelers and those ensnared by divine curses. Their pursuit extended to individuals touched by godly powers, though discerning a tribulator from the masses proved elusive. For this purpose, they possessed the fabled "Hunter's Eye," enabling them to identify tribulators before administering their fate.

Cale was pleased at the decision of hiding his divine power otherwise he would have endangered his family.

Cale cursed the hunters.

Cale left the palace with a note for Zed.

It wasn't time yet. He was still young, at least one year to enjoy this peaceful life.

Cale Henituse is officially 12 years old. Cale silently stared at the small scythe with the curve of the half moon.

Cale then created a clone of himself, then divided his soul in half. Puting the half soul into the body, Cale took away any divine power of GoF only leaving the saint of Death.

"Take care." Cale told his clone before leaving without looking back.

He was going for a long journey and may not come back for a long time. Cale did not leave anything nor did he look back as he left.

Cale stared at the full moon.

He didn't know how long but felt a lot of time had passed. Maybe a year or so, not sure.

He had silently taken care of a family of hunters, Black Blood. Then replacing the puppet as them, it was hard.

Cale can taste blood in his mouth, pain in his whole body as it was covered in nasty cuts and injuries. Cale's body was a canvas of agony, painted with the harsh brushstrokes of relentless combat. Deep gashes crisscrossed his flesh like jagged rivers, oozing crimson rivers that trailed down his torn skin. His arms bore the weight of countless battles, the muscles strained and trembling beneath layers of torn fabric and dried blood.

The stench of his own mortality hung heavy in the air, mingling with the metallic taste of blood that coated his tongue. A web of fractures snaked through his bones, each movement sending jolts of searing pain radiating through his body. Every breath was a struggle, a rasping wheeze torn from lungs that felt as though they had been pierced by a thousand knives.

His vision swam in and out of focus, the world around him reduced to a blur of muted colours and indistinct shapes. Despite the overwhelming agony that threatened to consume him, Cale pressed on, driven by a primal instinct to survive against all odds. Each step forward felt like a Herculean effort, the weight of his injuries dragging him down into the abyss of despair.

Cale groaned as he teleported himself to where Zed was.

He didn't have time or strength to check if the man was alone or not.

As soon as he saw Zed, Cale fainted.

Zed Crossman was playing chess with his son Alberu Crossman. When Cale Henituse suddenly appeared in his office in a gruesome state.

Much to Zed's horror Cale fainted, in very fast speed Zed caught the young man.

Zed checked Cale's breathing and it was shallow, taking out the healing potion he chugged it down to Cale's mouth.

Not caring about the bloody mess Zed put Cale on the long sofa.

Giving high grade potion to Cale until his breath was established and returned normal the cut's start healing. Zed grimaced at the thought of the wounds were going to leave nasty scars.

Now he can only wait for Cale to wake up.

By the way he looked Zed was sure that Cale did something crazy. Zed wondered if it was wrong to give Cale the information on hunters?

"Your majesty?" Zed heard a hesitating voice that made him stiffen up. Zed had completely forgotten about his son Alberu because of Cale's state.

"Alberu this is a secret you understand!" Alberu never heard his father so serious and sharp when he said that. Alberu nodded his head but he didn't understand how the first young master of Henituse was here.

Why did he come here?

It was the first time Alberu saw Zed so panicked.

Before Alberu could say something there were groans coming from Cale. That made father-son duo look at Cale's direction.

Cale groaned as he felt as if he was on edge of death.

It was painful, very painful like he was being trampled on by horses.

Cale, no other choice, used saint power to heal himself. The whole room was filled with a coldness as Cale used healing ability on himself.

Cale breathed in sigh relief as the pain had reached a bearable level. Cale sighed before using divine power to clean up himself.

Only after he was clean and tidied up did Cale stand up from the coach.

" Greetings to your majesty Zed and young prince Alberu." Cale put his hand on his heart before bowing in 30 degrees.

It was a very simple greeting, much like Cale who is very straightforward and blunt. Much to Alberu's surprise the king was not offended by this but seemed expecting it.

"I, Patrich Thames, have eliminated the House of Black Blood." Cale bluntly with a cold voice reported to king Zed. Zed paused with unknown emotions flashed through his face.

"Whole house?" Cale nodded at Zed's question. Zed sighed in disbelief while Alberu was confused.

"Start from the beginning." Cale nodded his head understanding what Zed meant, Alberu was taken aback.

"On the night of my 12th birthday, I left to fulfil my duty. One by one I lured them from their safe heaven to hell before allowing them to catch me. Once captured I waited for the right time while collecting more information on them. I have no idea how long passed but tonight I have slaughtered all those I deemed as sinners!" Cale summarized for Zed and Alberu.

Cale didn't see a flash of horror in Zed's eyes.

"It's been 3 years since your 12th birthday." Alberu complimented Cale who in return smiled with appreciation. Cale raised an eyebrow at the blessing oozing from Alberu.

"Your highness Alberu, it seems Sun god really likes you for her to bless you." Cale offhandedly said as he can see the strong blessing energy of sun god. Because he was too focused on the gold aura that he didn't notice the father-son duo was looking at him.

"No wonder you are destined to be crown prince!" Cale mumbled as he nodded his head in understanding.

Alberu opened and closed his mouth at Cale's words. Not that Cale cared as he walked towards Alberu and held his hands. "If so then we from Death side can't lose!"

Cale didn't know how much death saint can do but he poured divine power of Death to Alberu making the older boy flinch at the coldness.

After a long minutes of Death saint' blessing performance Cale released Alberu's hands.

Alberu could feel the divine aura inside himself. Alberu never had dreamed that he would receive the blessing of the Death saint and sun god's blessing was now more traceable.

Alberu can feel the sun god's aura.

It didn't harm him at all, instead it was protecting him.

It was a very big thing for him, to have the sun god's blessing means he won't have to worry about the future when he takes over the throne.

Zed was happy for his son.

Before realising that he now can make his son crown, he had yet made his son crown prince because of a lot of issues and didn't have a reasonable reason.

Cale had just given him the reason, sun god's blessing.

Cale didn't know what the two father-son were thinking but he was here for business.

From his inner coat pocket, Cale took out the jewellery and tossed it towards Zed. "Here."

Zed caught it with one hand, when he saw what it was he froze. It was the diadem he gave to his wife Alberu's mother.

Cale silently watched the older man with sympathy, but then it's not his position to console him. That is why he didn't do anything just let Alberu do it since he is the son not him.

"Thank you!" Zed's voice trembled as he thanked Cale who just hummed in response. Cale sighs knowing how the king was feeling at getting the revenge he was planning for all his life since his wife died.

Cale had to leave now, he had been a long way from his family. "Then I shall leave now, your majesty Zed, crown prince Alberu. I wish you goodnight."

Zed didn't know if Cale was being sarcastic or just sincere? Did Cale think Zed would be able to have a good night when he was going to spend the whole night talking with Alberu?

Correct, Cale just bid goodnight because it was nighttime not more or less.

Cale got into his room through the balcony seeing his half soul sleeping peacefully Cale felt envious. While he was suffering for 3 years worth of torture, his other half was actually enjoying himself.

There was nothing new that happened instead just normal life.

Well, Cale has to prepare for the evacuation of Harris Village.

"You are back?" Cale was startled to hear Sui khan's voice in his room. Looking towards the balcony there he saw a 16 years old boy with white hair and wings.

"Khan? Why are you here?"

"I felt your presence." That made Cale confused. 'What did Khan mean by that?'

As if knowing what Cale is thinking, Sui Khan let out a sigh. "The day you left we felt your presence weaken, it was as if you were here but not exactly here."

'Ohhh'Cale realised that Sui Khan and Klein had noticed his antic of splitting his soul in half. It wasn't surprising considering that he had made them his angel, being angels means they will be more powerful than normally.

So it wasn't surprising that when Cale split his soul Sui Khan and Klein would notice it. Cale wanted to facepalm himself but held back not wanting to do such a disgraceful thing.

"What do you mean?" Cale innocently asked, Sui Khan blinked at the familiar expression that his dongsaeng Kim Rok Soo used when they were in their world to avoid suspicion after causing trouble.

Now he thinks Cale and Roksu were similar one way or two.

He wondered if Roksu had influenced Cale or if there was more than this?

Only time will tell him.

The angel of GoF was mysterious.

Cale waved hand in front of Sui Khan's face to bring him back to earth.

Sui Khan suspiciously stared at Cale, this man was a puzzle. Cale looked away with a nervous smile.

****

Nervous.

That was what Cale was feeling right now because he had not long before he turned 18.

God-wannabe is coming soon, and his mother's ancient power is still laying in the three of Haris Village. Half of his mother ap is still sealed in his domain and the other one is a bait for god-wanna-be to come out.

Soon fate was going to make a move.

Destiny is starting.

Time is nearing.

But tomorrow was Roksu's birthday, Cale was on his way to uhh steal a present for his baby brother.

Cale looked at the cave not fareway from where he was hiding. It was night with a full moon, the moon was lighting up the surrounding area making it easier for Cale to know how many people were guarding.

Cale was contemplating whether he should kill everyone or not? 'Spare them or just kill? Sparing them seems unfair for the baby dragon who is destined to suffer in the hands of their master but killing them will make their family sad? Wait, do they even have family?'

Cale felt his head throb in pain for thinking bullsh*ts. 'Alright let's just kill them all if they want to blame someone then blame themselves for choosing Venion as their master.'

Cale was wearing a simple black grim reaper attire and the scythe he used to slaughter the household of Black Blood. Then with swift movement Cale slayed their heads in painless death. For the guards Cale gave them mercy by killing them painlessly but for the future torturer Cale doesn't have that fancy.

That is why he made the man feel the 2 years worth of torture the baby dragon suffered then die.

Cale gently held the egg, sending warmth into the egg. Cale hoped the baby dragon would live a happier life. Cale brought out a small fancy box with wide space inside. In the box was what the dragon should have in their lair.

Putting the egg on the soft cushion Cale closed the box then left while sending a death glare that conveying next is you to the recorder orb then teleported away.

The next day was Roksu's birthday 16, it was busy day with preparing for banquet.

Cale carried the box with himself to Roksu's gift.

He couldn't give the dragon egg in public that is why he decided to give it earlier.

"Roksu?" Cale knocked on the bedroom door.

"Come in!" Cale could hear Roksu's tired voice that made Cale smile knowing that Roksu must have been tossed here and there to prepare for the banquet.

Cale opened the door and closed it once he was inside. There was Ron helping Roksu with his clothes.

Cale with a bright yet gentle smile walked to his brother. "Happy birthday Rok."

Cale gave the gift he was holding to Roksu who was confused. Roksu was indeed confused at why his brother gave him the present earlier. Roksu held the box while looking at his brother who gave him encouraging eyes.

Roksu opened the box and was speechless at the sight of black dragon egg. He can hear Ron's shocked gasp that made him snap out of his shock. Roksu took a deep breath in and out before looking at his smiling hyung. "Hyung, where did you get this?"

Cale just smiled at him, making Roksu nervous.

"I was exploring the forest when I accidentally stumbled upon that egg." Cale patted on Roksu's head that had yet to be styled.

'Yeah right' Roksu doesn't believe in his hyung's bullsh*t look even Ron was sending sus eyes.

"And that forest happened to be?"

"It's near the Tols or Tolz, whatever the territory name was. Why?" Roksu felt his breath hitch. He looked at the egg; it was black, which means the dragon that Choi Han had no choice but to end its life. Roksu had been thinking of going on a rescue mission those past years but was not sure how, as he was alone and not strong enough to go alone, not to mention he wasn't sure if the dragon egg was still there.

Chapter 14: Fast forwards to plot!

Chapter Text

(Z/n: "Next chapter -? Somehow edited-?")

Roksu didn't know whether to cry or laugh at how his hyung had just casually given him a dragon egg as a birthday present.

But he was thankful that Cale saved the dragon from the fate of death. Roksu didn't want to feel moved, but it's really damn hard not to when Cale showered him those affection without any reservation.

The birthday banquet went without any problems.

Now that Cale had saved the dragon, it was time to prepare for the Harris Village rescue operation.

Dreamland, Cale was going to use the dream to contact the adults of the village. It was an idea he suddenly came up with while doing his paperwork. By the dream he doesn't have to personally go there, instead just has to manipulate the dreams of the village chief.

So that night, Cale, who had just turned 17 years old, manipulated dreams for the first time in his life.

He did it in such a subtle way that fate wouldn't notice it, nor would the would the gods. It was hard, but not impossible. It took him a year to convince the villagers that it wasn't a dream, prepare for evacuation and so on.

Cale can see Roksu becoming restless at the thought of Harris Village, Cale knew that Roksu would want to save the villager, but he couldn't because fate was restricting him. Cale can see the shackles binding Roksu and Roksu himself can see them too.

With fate distracted by his younger sibling, that's how Cale had altered the villagers with the clones he crafted for them to inhabit temporarily. Once the white star appeared, Cale planned to seize his mother's ancient power by force and extract the souls of the villagers, leaving nothing behind but empty shells.

As Cale expected it went smoothly. "Is everyone there?"

"Yes, everyone is here." Klein answered with a relieved face. Just then Sui Khan and Klein saw something they couldn't believe Cale was coughing up blood.

"Cale!! Are you alright!!"

"Cale!!"

Cale couldn't hear them as he could see the god of balance standing in front of him. "You know the price?"

Sui Khan and Klein can hear a deep man's voice asking seriously. They saw Cale nod his head with a smile. "I do, how much?"

"This time it's about the third, not the half." Cale nodded as a circle of orbs flew towards him. Cale held it as he transferred his divine power. Once the orb was filed, the GoB left with a lingering gaze on Cale.

"I'm alright don't worry, I'm just giving the divine power sent by my lord to pay for the balance of the world and punishment from fate for intertwining." Cale didn't know that his face was as pale as paper, there was blood coming out of his eyes, and his breath was shallow.

With that he passed out.

Sui Khan and Klein felt their hearts stop beating when they saw Cale pass out. Thank God Klein was a dragon, they teleported to Cale's room as fast as they could.

Klein used healing magic on Cale while Sui Khan was holding him. They were so worried that they were shaking.

Cale opened his eyes thanks to Klein's timely healing magic. Cale wasn't in pain just feeling empty because of the absence of his divine power that had just come and gone.

It was just sudden, a big amount of power entered his body, and without time to settle, it was sucked out. Because of that his body couldn't handle it and suffered backlash.

"Thank you" Cale gratefully smiled at Klein for timely healing, otherwise he might have been in come for a long time. He didn't want anyone in his family to be worried about him.

Klein shyly smiled back at Cale, getting a smile from such a beautiful man made his face heat up. Sui Khan just smiled knowingly at Klein.

"What is this about?" Sui Khan sat on the edge of bed while looking at Cale like a hawk. Cale didn't notice that because he was staring at the ceiling. "Sorry for surprising you two, it's just that my lord would exchange his power to balance the world because he is busy with other matters. It was left to me to deliver my lord power to the God of Balance."

Cale saw their faces suddenly become vicious.

"But didn't you say that..." Klein trailed off as he realized that Cale had never said that there won't be a price to pay but only how their lord paid for saving two beings.

Sui Khan also remembered the conversation they had at their first meeting.

"Don't worry it's not as bad as it looks, just some loss of blood from the pressure of fate. And sudden power increases and decreases backlashes." Cale tried to comfort two worried men with soft voices but that only made them frown more.

"How are the villagers?" Cale clearly seeing that it didn't help tried to change the subject but that made two men more vicious.

Seeing it not working Cale shut his mouth. If Ron was here then he would have been amused at Cale's ability to turn oblivious at the wrong time, so he gave him A-graded lemon tea with a benign smile.

The two men silently watch as Cale cleans up himself with ease and skillfully.

That made them wonder how many times Cale had been doing dangerous things while leaving them unaware. Cale didn't know that his skillful cleaning up made the two Korean men more worried.

They stayed together in calm yet comfortable silence.

Three of them worked together for those past years, learning about themselves.

****

Cale was drinking lemon tea while signing paperwork when his office door swung open and there stood Roksu with Choi Han. "Hyung!"

"Yes?" Cale put down his tea cup while looking at the two boys with a smile.

"Can you give me pocket money!"

"Sure." Cale readily agreed, opening the drawer of his desk and taking out a check.

Cale wrote down 100 million gallons before handing it to Roksu whose eyes sparkled while shocked Choi Han.

"Thank you brother!" Roksu smiled happily before leaving with Choi Han.

Seeing his dongsaeng leave, Cale continued to work.

They had one day before leaving for the capital. This time it's not Basen, but Cale and Roksu are going.

Cale was going to meet his bestie Alberu and stop terrorizing.

It was interesting, if Cale were to say so, seeing as Roksu coming back with dirty clothes. "Did you have fun?"

Roksu sheepishly smiled at his brother's smile. After sending Roksu to change his clothes because they were about to depart, Cale with Roksu following him behind, arrived at Taylor Stan's carriage.

"Young master Taylor, it's nice to meet you here." Cale greeted with his usual gentle smile. Reaching out for a handshake, which Taylor hurriedly took.

Taylor Stan couldn't believe his luck, he was just on his way to the capital when he met the heir and second young master of the Henituse family.

Taylor stared at Cale with admiration as he recalled the information on how Cale had managed the Henituse territory when he was just 8 years old.

And that genius was greeting him respectfully, without an ounce of disdain or whatever. He can also see that the second young master, Roksu, was also the same as his older brother. "Nice to meet you, too young master Cale and Roksu."

"Are you also on the way to the capital?" Cale asked with interest, and Taylor laughed awkwardly before answering positively.

"Then how about we share the camp?" Taylor was taken aback by Cale's suggestion, and even Roksu and Cage were too.

"If it's alright with you!" Taylor hurriedly agreed, he was delighted by Cale's suggestion.

Cale just smiled at Taylor before directing his gaze towards Cage, his old friend from his first life.

"This is my friend Cage, the priestess of death." Taylor sees Cale's eyes looking at Cage. Cage put her two hands together in a prayer position. "Nice to meet you two young masters."

"Same here, priestess-nim." Cale politely nodded towards Cage, and Roksu peeked out of his brother's back at the mention of crazy priestess Cage.

"How about we sit near the camp and talk, young master Taylor?" Cale gestured toward the camp of theirs, and Taylor nodded as he was helped down by Ron and Cage.

"Hans, prepare two extra spots for our fellow travelers." Cale ordered before leaving with Taylor, Roksu and Cage to the seating spot.

"Young master Taylor, don't you think our crown prince is diligent?" Cale out of nowhere asked Taylor who had just comfortably settled down.

Taylor wondered why Cale asked that question before it dawned on him that Cale was hinting that he was on the crown prince's side. That surprised him because he was sure that Cale and crown prince Alberu had never met each other, so how could Cale side with him? But that doesn't matter as it would be quite beneficial to Taylor if Cale were to join the crown prince faction.

"Yes, of course he is after all our sun!" Taylor smiled brightly, and in return, Cale gave his brightest smile too.

They looked at each other knowingly, yes they had chosen to support the crown prince and they had come to an alliance. Cale will provide protection to Taylor since he is an ally that Taylor guessed. 'We don't need to secretly get in through church at all.'

Cale and Taylor were having very pleasant political talk, while Cage and Roksu were staring in space, wondering: Where am I, who am I, and what am I doing?

At that moment, Cale looked at Cage which was noticed immediately as she could feel the death aura strongly from Cale. All her worries were gone when she saw mischievous eyes with an unnoticed shushing gesture and a smirk, and Cage dumbly nodded.

No one noticed it because Taylor and Roksu were talking and the rest were doing their thing except Choi Han who was confused.

Four of them warmed up to each other fast enough that Taylor and Cage wanted Roksu to be their dongsaeng while Cale was their hyung because that was the kind of vibe they were getting from Cale.

Cale is like a big brother when he is interacting with them. "Little Han, come sit with us! Why are you standing there alone?"

Seeing Choi Han standing alone with a blank face, Cale called him over with a kind smile. "Are you tired? Have you eaten?"

Choi Han was bombarded with a lot of concerning questions from Cale.

If one thing Choi Han knew about this mysterious brother of Roksu was his kindness towards him.

Cale was extremely kind to Choi han like he was a child. So when he came to Henituse Estate with Roksu, he was fussed over by Cale.

Choi Han was very thankful to Roksu for helping him with Harris village matters.

Cale didn't think that he would meet Cage here. It seems she would keep it quiet, much to his relief.

He didn't want his family to know about it, lest it become troublesome. One time he made the mistake of going to the church of death without telling his family, and a huge misunderstanding happened.

"....." Yeah, let's not think about it.

Cale turned a blind eye to his three dongsaeng secret meetings at night.

Cale found it funny how he had become hyung when he was younger than Taylor and Cage.

'Physically young but mentally mature, I guess?' Cale shrugged his shoulders at his thoughts.

He would appreciate it if the baby dragon stopped watching him while staying invisible. He wasn't going to cause 'problem' if Tolz had behaved like a noble; he was called in vain.

How told Tolz to be on the same road towards capital?

Had that waste of space not been so tyranny in that small village, Cale might have ignored him instead of humbling him into a shrimp.

Cale sighed with a grimace.

The slaughter of the Blue Wolf tribe was coming near as the day passed by.
