Picturesque village terrorised by groups

For years, the picturesque village of Rhuallt in Denbighshire has been lauded as a rather wonderful place to call home. Nestled amidst breathtaking scenery and conveniently located near the A55, it strikes an ideal balance between bucolic charm and accessibility.

North Wales Live paid a visit to this typically tranquil Denbighshire community following reports of disruptive behaviour. Opinions among the locals were divided; some pointed fingers at unruly youths for the disturbances, while others acknowledged the lack of activities for teens in the vicinity.

Kath Easton, a local resident, referred to a troubling episode where a man's tyre was maliciously punctured. Another resident said: "I used to love Rhuallt - it's a beautiful location. I hate it now. I can't walk down the street without feeling intimidated or being jeered at or verbally abused by kids. You can read more here.

Katherine Jenkins part of Rob Burrow tributes at Twickenham

During the English Premiership final between Bath and Northampton at Twickenham, the 80,000 crowd rose as one to remember the late rugby league hero. Fans stood and applauded in the seventh minute of the match as a mark of respect for the legend who died after battling MND last weekend. Burrow were the number seven jersey during his distinguished career.

The gesture came as the rugby league Challenge Cup final between Wigan and Warrington at Wembley started seven minutes late in tribute, with supporters also holding a minute's silence. Fans also applauded Burrow in the seventh minute of that match, while Welsh soprano Katherine Jenkins performed a moving rendition of Abide with Me ahead of kick-off.

During Jenkins' moving rendition of Abide with Me, fans displayed a large banner adorned with images of Burrow followed by a moment of silence. Both teams joined the arena in orange 'Burrow 7' t-shirts. Jenkins' voice and the accompanying scenes of tribute left many fans in the stadium and at home in tears.

Mosley search 'dangerous' as temperatures hit 40C

Search teams scouring a small Greek island for missing TV presenter Dr Michael Mosley are working in "dangerous" sweltering conditions as temperatures hit 40C. A uniformed team from the island of Symi has been working in the high heat as the search continued on Saturday, with one member pulling a sheep from a stone shack with a corrugated iron roof to search inside.

Individual firefighters were forced to split up and have been covering vast expanses of steep rocky terrain on their own, as well as using a drone to search the area. One uniformed worker said there were 10 of them searching multiple summits because it was too dangerous for large crews to work during the summer months.

Firefighter Stergos Giakoumakis said from near one of the peaks: “Because it’s not so easy to bring here 100 people, especially this period, because it’s the most dangerous period. Everything is dry and it is too dangerous for firemen to search.”

A different team worked in the morning and there was a half-hour handover, he added. Firefighters having been using umbrellas to protect themselves as there is no shade or path near the top of the hill that sits between Pedi bay and Agia Marina, where they suspect Dr Mosley may have walked.
